I live in TN and took a loan out in 2005 which defaulted for NSF… I was young and very irresponsible but the other day I received a call from Delanore Kimper- Ace Cash Express threatening to issue a warrant for my arrest. Saying it was Theft by deception. Yes I owe the loan but times were hard and I can make small payment arrangements. I just need to make sure I can’t be put in jail for this! I'm a single mom tying to make it! Any information will help! Thanks

Chances are that it was a collection agency and not Ace that called you. No you can't be put in jail for this unless they can prove that you did it as a deliberate action to defraud.

You can't be arrested for it.

I don't think they can put you in Jail that easy, it's a common thread from collectors. Just don't agree to anything fast. Tell em you need a statment stating what exactly you owe and do everything written.
I am sure somebody here will come arround soon to give you real good advice about single steps. You also can use the search in the right corner where the login is.
Good luck and hang in there!
