jay, even if it is in the negative (mine was forced open the first time also due to pending pdl debits), they should be able to put a hard debit block on it. Notice I say "should". Some banks are harder to deal with than others. However, if you STRESS the importance to them, they should put a hard block on the account (even if it is in the negative) so that no more NSF fees will add to it. You already have to pay them some fees as it is. For gosh sakes, you would think they would do something to protect the account until you're able to bring it back into the positive and then they can close it. But I do understand some banks are hard to deal with. But it just kills me that these illegal pdls are going to continue to hit it and cause you more fees. I hope your bank can help you so that no more fees are added on.

Ahhhh...... it just KILLS me! Now, in my case, when my account was "forced" open due to the stupid pdls, it was in the negative (WAY in the negative). They put a hard debit block on it (even though it was in the negative) so that nothing could come through and cause NSF fees (to add to the ones I already had). I'm hoping your bank can do the same. At least that way you won't be paying NSF fees forever and ever as this illegal idiot pld keeps hitting your account.

I was able to get my bank (through the fraud dept) to put a freeze on my account, the last time 10/31 that cash today tried hitting it, the debit bounced back to them and nothing paid out and no nsf charges were billed to me.

Exactly what I am hoping for jay. For the bank to do SOMETHING so that the debits will be rejected AND not charge her NSF fees. It can be done!

I put my account on Deposit only status and anytime a debit hit my account it was sent right back unpaid with no NSF fees as well.

Thanks for posting, you guys! jay, get your bank to do SOMETHING like this. This way the pdls will not get the debits AND you won't get any more NSF charges. You do not need this.

jay, so they will not force it back open or charge you any NSF fees or anything? Since you know that these guys are going to continue to hit that account forever and ever. It's totally closed forever?

Yay! I'm just glad! Now you won't have to be paranoid about these pdls slipping debits through or getting NSF fees! This is great news!
