Oregon is the only state that I've seen them break the law in, and I think that is just because they weren't quick enough to change things when OR's laws changed.

Nutsie- I think you are referring to the CSO thing. Since they are a CSO they aren't subject to the pdl laws. So they aren't breaking any laws when they allow you to rollover your loan.

I decided I'm just going to send them a payment, in the form of a Cashier's Check, and a letter of my intentions, if they cash it, I'm thinking they are agreeing to my terms. At least it shows I am trying to pay them. If they don't cash it then they can just send me to collections and wait for their money. My credit pretty much sucks, so it doesn't matter much!

That's how most people end up dealing with them. Just send them the cashier's check or money order every month. They will cash it!

I am going to do the same thing. I just hope that the are none of the others ones I have, are operating as CSO's.

So I've been getting calls from CashNet the last couple of days, haven't answered them or called them back. This morning I got an email from them telling me my account is in default...blah blah blah...here's a portion of the email I found interesting....

Quote:
We value your business, and we ask you to contact us immediately to
resolve this matter. In order to retain your good standing with our
company, and to avoid further additional costs to you, we need to
receive full payment of this debt within (15) days from the receipt of
this notice. Possible payment methods include:

* ACH: call us at 888.801.9078
* Money Gram: Code=3855, Account # = SSN
* Credit Card: call us at 888.801.9078
* Western Union: Code City = SG Investor, State = IL
* Money Order or Certified Check

If you do not resolve this matter, your standing with other companies
may be hurt and you may have trouble qualifying for an advance with us
and other providers in the future. Additionally, if we do not hear
from you regarding this notice, we will pursue collections through the
use of a third party collection agency and/or civil court proceedings.

* If you have already made payment arrangements for the entire
balance, please disregard this email.

When I called them to set up payment arrangements, I was told they absolutely DO NOT accept money orders or cashiers check....funny how this email contradicts that claim....

That's strange . . . . They are one of the few pdl's that actually does accept them (at least admits to it). I wonder if you just talked to someone in a bad mood that day. Or just stupid.

The guy wasn't real friendly and would not work with me at all. So now I'll just send them what I can. If they're getting payments, I don't imagine they'll complain too much.

Sorry to say, that most people report that even when they send in payments they still get the calls from them. Until it's paid in full or paid on "their" terms, odds are they will keep bugging you.

But at least you are doing things on your terms and not theirs.

Today must be "email" day according to the PDL Manual, chapter 12, page 146.

They could at least be a little more creative and send out different emails to everyone! Knock on wood...I haven't got any calls yet today!

No creativity is not in their vocabulary because I get the same email at least once a week, despite talking to them numerous times.

That email looks familiar. I got it a couple of times. I kept waiting for the one that said I didn't owe over 550 and something that said a little closer to 450 + 36% interest. But instead I got an email that said, just give us the 450 in four installments. So that was a happy email for me, but unfortunately the rest of you aren't in Oregon to get that kind of deal....
