I have an installment loan that is in default with Advance America. I already sent them a certified letter to revoke the wage assignment I signed with them. The office there tells me that is no good, that I have to revoke the assignment AFTER it has been served to my employer. Is that right or legal? Anything i've read or seen doesnt say this.

Thanks for the assistance!

That doesn't seem right. You definitely should give a copy to your employer though so that they know you have revoked the voluntary wage assignment. Is it possible to have your payroll department note your file that they should notify you if they receive any paperwork regarding this wage assignment?
