Do those letters posted regarding laws in your state really work? So far i have received responses stating that the PDL'S go by the laws in the state they are issued. I am getting a bit discouraged.

Well, expect the PDL to say stuff like that because they are liars. Seriously, even ones that are legal for you might still do illegeal things to obtain money (not to mention give out loans to people where pdls are prohibited). Don't be discouraged, if they sense you're backing down, you will win. Just always stay with your case. These laws are real and they are breaking them

Thanks bea2ls, all of them are illegal in MA I am sure not one of the companies i have PDLS with are licensed in this state

I did and they won't do anything they said I owe them the money even though i have over paid on one of them.

Just keep fighting - try to keep everything in writing, if possible. They will back-off. I forget if you mentioned this, but did you file the reports?

Not yet, i am working on filing reports with the AG & Division of Banks in MA. I will also email the form letter to all of them after tomorrow when they can't debit my account because it is closed. I have to deal with 13 of these PDLS. It is overwhelming.

oh, that's right - i forgot they haven't defaulted yet. you'll be ok. my biggest problem was actually with the bank. be patient, i know waiting is hard but you'll be ok. i only had one truely nasty call with these people. as long as you stick with the law (they aren't legal), you will be fine. Just don't back down.

If PDLs are prohibited in MA then try to include the processor route in your plan. It worked for me but I think they are getting overwhelmed by emails and phone calls so they are doing things a little differently. Nonetheless, they can help you out.

Yea, I am trying for the processor route, too - my account is closed but I'm doing everything I can.. if they are over-whelmed, maybe they will be sick of these companies??

I will keep that in mind! I just want to get through this and stop feeling the way i do now! It has been so stressful each week trying to juggle things around and pay my regular bills.
I don't know much about the processor thing..my PDL'S are listed on another post, os if you guys know who they use that would help!

Mom, the process can be discouraging and they will tell you whatever they can to get you to break down and pay them. Do not let them get to you. They will be taken care of in time. This process can take awhile but it is worth it in the end. You should check out some of the success stories in this fourm...
