Cashnet USA is the only one I recognize as being licensed where they loan.

I found this link on the State of Alabama Banking Department. If allows you to type in the name of the lender to see if they are liscensed in Alabama. So far, none of the PDL's I owe are coming up, I typed in the name of the storefront company here and they were on here.

I finally spoke with a rep from the State of Alabama Banking department. She did confirm that cashnetusa is legal, but they have been bought by someone else.
As far as the othet companies, to the best of her knowledge, they aren't liscensed.
She told me to email them stating that the State Banking Department confirmed that they are not liscensed and they can't do business within Alabama. Therefore, I am not obligated to payback the loan under the laws of Alabama Banking Department.

grand, great news for you! I did the same thing. I contacted my state agency and they were like "Ummm....illegal." So, I did send the letters to the pdls and they argued my head off and fought and fought. They will continue to deny that they have to follow your state laws, blah, blah. You have your state on your side. Please be sure to file complaints with your state AG against these pdls. And let the pdls know that you are filing complaints.

I will, the lady I spoke with at the Department of Banking said that they are trying to track all the PDL companies down that are illegal, but there are so many. They don't register with the states because they have a fee to pay and rules to follow, these rules don't allow them to charge all these extra fees and keep debiting their clients accounts.
