I keep having trouble logging on. Anyway, I got a response from the complaint form I completed with my AG's office. The following is what she said and, I'm in Arkansas:

I am the investigator that is assigned to your complaint regarding United Cash Loans. Our office takes the position that these loans are voidable and unenforceable because of the usurous interest rate. We suggest that people close out their accounts if the companies are taking money out, like United Cash is doing. It will not necessarily stop them from trying to collect, but it is highly unlikely they will. We do not know of any payday loan company that has filed any legal action to further collect. I am sending letters to both addresses today. I will forward you their response when we receive it.

Payday loans are prohibited in N.J. All you are responsible for paying them is the principal amount borrowed. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

I live in NC and have gotten myself into a hole with these payday loans. I currently have 4 and with the rates they chanrge are unable to pay the full amount all at once. I have several NSF's from my bank each week from where they try to pull the money out several times per week. I am afraid my bank account is going to get closed. Does anyone know of any payday loan consolidation places or where I need to go from here?

They can only garnish your wages if they have a court order, they can impose a wage assignment on your wages though, however, you can revoke the wage assignment at any time. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

I got a response and they did just that, marked the account paid in full. I did the same thing with another payday loan with the same results. Maybe you can do the same thing with some of your payday loans.
