Hey guys-
Just got a call from NCA-stating that they are a collection agency for quickest-cash-advance asking for my attorney's information. I told him I didn't have one. He went on and on about I wrote a bad check and they were going to get me for it.. blah blah blah. I told him I didn't write any check, he stated you signed the documents. AND!!!! I told him to stop calling me at work he stated he was going to continue call. Who is this prick they called from a # (620) 665-6032. What can he do guys even though I told him I know the pdl was illegal he is going to continue to harass me. Cannr, Goudah and all what should I do?

Send them a cease and desist letter and a debt validation letter. They are junk debt buyers. They will not be able to validate that debt if they can't even get thier facts straight. Go to www.budhibbs.com and look them up on the agencies to avoid list and you will see what scum they really are. Here is there address. Communicate by certified return receipt mail only.

They cannot get you for a bad check. Period. They are just trying to scare and intimidate you into paying.

Turn them into your state's AG. They cannot threaten things that they are not planning on doing, and they cannot have you arrested for a bad check. They are breaking the law, not you.

Is the PDL you mentioned licensed? If not, how can they even try to collect on it??

Sfate, they can not do anything but harass you. Please do not get upset.
Most of us have had these calls at work, and we answered saying we no longer work there. Enough "she no longer works here", and they stop. Can the receptionist at work just screen your calls for you. Mine knows already to just tell them I left the job and she has no forwarding info.
Its a pain in the a$$, but really its just words.

Once they get your letters you will never hear from them again. They won't risk a law suit.

Anytime! Do not worry, they cannot do a thing to collect.

Sfate, stop sweating. This is really small stuff. Its actually fun to see how many excused you can give these people. I love thinking of new things to tell them. I used to get upset also, and sometimes still do, but for the most part I have learned to calm down about the calls.

sfate, let me jump in here. I recently received a collection notice from National Credit Adjusters. They are trying to collect on an illegal pdl that they "bought". Dispute the collection agency. Demand debt validation. I included in mine that I'm sorry they bought an illegal loan that is basically uncollectable. Sorry about their luck, but I still asked for debt validation. I faxed it and also sent it certified mail. I also filed complaints with all the agencies regarding their collection efforts on an illegal debt. Do this. You need documentation of everything. Especially if it's quickest-cash-advance. Too slick and slimy. Don't put anything past them. And National Credit Adjusters are just as bad. You need to send them a letter demanding a debt validation (they'll never be able to validate that stupid illegal debt). However, you will have documenation. You need to file complaints with the agencies. You especially need to file with your state AG against them. Watch out. I've had a collection agency hit my credit report. Yes, an illegal collection agency collecting on an overpaid, refunded illegal loan. I have all documentation & fired off a nasty assed letter to them, filed complaints with all agencies, and disputed it with the credit bureaus. The idiot collection agency is already freaking out emailing me trying to cover their ass. Do this, sfate. You need documentation. Especially if they decide to hit your credit report.

Well, if a illegal PDL hits your credit report, then there's a lot of action that can be taken. I am assuming it's the collection agency that is on Cannr's report. That's a big time violation of the fdcpa since they are collection for an illegal unlicensed company. I would sue their pants off. Contact an attorney and get going on it!! They can be fined $1,000 per violation.
