Finally I found this site again. I am in desperate need of help.Went through a bad time mentally/emotionally and got in over my head. I am in Arizona and have 6 payday loans (2 storefront and 4 internet) and an overdrawn and fee-ridden bank account. My loans online are with: Cashnetusa,Oneclickcash, ameriloan and Fastwire. My storefront are with urgent money service(jerks) and Check-n-go. A debt consolidation loan would save me, but having trouble with that and I'm not finding a counseling service that can work with this situation. Please help.

lost, here are your state laws regarding pdl's. Unfortunately, rollovers are allowed, but only three. Your store fronts will be your main priority since they are most likely licensed/legal. Your internet ones, I can see a couple jump out as not licensed/legal. Let's take a look at your laws:
| Quote: | Arizona State Information
Legal Status: Legal
Citation:
Ariz. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 6-1251 et seq.
Loan Terms:
Maximum Loan Amount: $500
Loan Term: Min: 5 days
Maximum Finance Rate and Fees: 15% of check
Finance Charge for 14-day $100 loan: $17.65
apr for 14-day $100 loan: 459%
Debt Limits:
Maximum Number of Outstanding Loans at One Time: One
Rollovers Permitted: Three (extensions)
Cooling-off Period:
Repayment Plan:
Collection Limits:
Collection Fees: $25 NSF fee + actual charges assessed by the financial institution
Criminal Action: Prohibited
Where to Complain, Get Information:
Regulator: Arizona Department of Financial Institutions
Address: Financial Enterprises Division, 2910 N. 44th Street, Suite 310 Phoenix AZ 85018
Phone: (800) 544-0708
Fax: (602) 381-1225

Criminal action is prohibited, so that's a good thing.

Cannr,
Thank you for your response. - Urgent Money Service (storefront) did not allow me ANY leeway. They dropped the check the day after it was due. When I applied the lady told me I could get at least a 14 day extension, but apparently that wasn't true. How do I check the licensing and what are my options if a place isn't legal/licensed?

Go to this website: http://www.paydayloaninfo.org/. You will need to click on your state and you will be able to read all about the PDL in your state. If they aren't legal you need to contact the AG's office, BBB and FTC. You need to figure out how much you have paid back in principle.
Your storefront PDL's are more than likely licensed and if you don't pay them or make payment arrangements with them they will and do sue. Get ahold of them ASAP. Also you need to close your account but need to read this thread before you do: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html.
Please list the amount of the loans you have and what pdl's are they and the interent pdl co's.
Someone will be along that has more information to help you then I do but at least what I have given you so far will get you started.
I am in no means an expert on this subject, I have just learned a few things since I joined in May. Good luck to you.

You can also go to your state's website, do a search and click on the department that issues business licenses. In California, my state, that would be the Dept of Corporations, for example and I'm sure it's called something similar in Az.
You should be able to tell there whether the business you are looking for is licensed in your state.
All I can tell you is that you most definately are not alone here and are among people who have been or are where you are. Let us know what the latest is, OK? We care.

lost, okay, I checked for you. Your two store fronts are licensed/legal (of course). Your four internets are not licensed/legal. Okay. So, here's my deal. Urgent Money Service dropped your check after the due date. Idiots. They did offer you a 14 day extension. Well, here's what your state law says - you are allowed THREE extensions. So, to me, they can extend it for another 14 days and then another 14 days. Then I guess it had better be paid off! But you are allowed 3 extensions. You may want to bring that to their attention. And maybe in the meantime you can save up and be able to pay it within that time period. Check 'n Go is licensed. I've checked other Check 'n Go's for people in other states and they will work with you. For how long? I don't know. Depends on the store/manager/etc. But when I've called for others, they were like "When would they be able to pick it up?" So, I would try calling them and seeing what you could work out with them. Your internets are the ones that are going to KILL you with their fees. The only way out of them is to close your bank account. Read the link or the "sticky" at the top of the site regarding closing your bank account. They will debit the hell out of you and they're not even legal! Kills me! But that's the only way to stop them. Now, criminal action is prohibited in your state. So I would close that account even though you have store fronts. But you NEED to stay on the "good" side of the store fronts. You NEED to have open communication with them. You NEED to make payments to them. Pay them!! Very important since they're legal. But your internets - bah to them! You only owe them what they deposited into your bank account. The only way to negotiate with an internet pdl is to close your bank account. They then have no way to get your money any longer. So this way you're better able to work something out. Like, no more illegal fees, etc. And they will try to scare the hell out of you with their illegal tactics. I know I'm rambling, but when I find information, I want to let you know. So.... if you have any questions as to all of this, just post!

Correct me if I am wrong but looking at cashnet's site it is legal in Arizona. What I saw under rates specific to Arizona they even had their license at the bottom of the page. They do business in Arizona under Cash America net of Arizona. So care might want to be taken with this one. But can someone double check me I might be wrong. Hey it is my first attempt at helping.

Okay. I checked again. CashNetUSA is not showing as a d/b/a of Cash America Net of Arizona LLC. All the others on the licensee database shows the d/b/a of the parent company. Cash America Net of Arizona LLC does not show a d/b/a of any kind. And CashNetUSA is not there at all. Now, correct me if I am wrong on this one. The phone number for Cash America Net of Arizona LLC is 312-568-4205. Hell, call them and ask them if they do business as CashNetUSA. Never hurts to make a phone call just to be on the safe side!

You may be right Cannr. I looked at their website cashnetusa.com. On the license the had displayed under arizona rates had Cash America Net of Arizona written on the license. Which one is right I have no clue. I just know that I don't like cashnetusa!

No, pyb! You are so right to jump in here and put that information! It's not stating it on the licensee database for the state; however, you never, ever know. I say this individual calls the telephone number and flat out asks if they are CashNetUSA. They'll either get a "yes" or a "no". Then we'll know the answer! You did great!

Why thank you . I did not want you to think I was trying to step on your toes. You do know more about this than I do, but I am trying to be a fast learner.

Don't think that! We are all here to help! If you ever have any information, just jump in and post! That's what we need! That's how we learn all this stuff! With what I posted and what you posted, maybe we will find out the answer if the telephone call is made! Then we have new information for others and that helps everyone! We are a team! And you're part of it!

Everyone, thank you for your input. I'm co glad I found this site and a community like this. It gives me a glimmer of hope. Have to go to a coffee shop for net access, so am limited. - Hopefully remedied today. To respond to the CashnetUsa issue, that # for Cash net America is not an Arizona prefix, but regardless I called it and got a voice mail that said it was CashnetUsa. - A side note to this whole deal, a couple of these companies have attempted to send charges through of varying amounts rather than the amount agreed upon. for example, Fastwire put through $25,$35.29, and $200 (twice) instead of $269. Causing even more fees. To answer Ladybug, The Companies and amounts are as follows: CASHNETUSA(net)= Jacked up to $404.42. Original amount $300 plus interest. I want to say Apprx $104 has been paid. Am unable to check one account. They also put through varying amounts. FASTWIRE (net)= $269.31 owed. $200 principal. -...ONE CLICK(net)= $135.00/$150 principal....AMERILOAN(net)= $350 OWED/ either $200 or $300 principal. ( all of these were deposited on a closed account (unrelated), so I am unable to check at the moment. Locals are URGENT $ SERVICE. =$375 (INCLUDING FEES) and CHECK -N- GO $585.23....I am current with them and they've been cool so far. I've noticed that none of the net ones would easily give a payment address. [/u][/b]

Cashnetusa is famous for breaking payments up. They could not get their full $1200 from me so they broke it up into 2 payments hoping they could at least get some..NOT! but now I will have 2 NSFs. I am waiting for them to break it up intop 4 payments. The money still won't be there.
