Hello Brenda, I can assure you that no one will arrest you for owing a debt. I am going to move this topic to the payday loan section so it will receive more attention. What is the name of this pdl company that is calling your workplace?

If you send them a C& D letter they MUST stop communications to your home ar place of employment. Tell them can they can only contact you thru e mail or usps.

A cease and desist letter only applies to third party collectors. Unfortunately if the original creditor is calling you at home all you can do is not answer the phone. You can tell them not to call you at work and they must abide by that. I would go ahead and send them a cease and desist letter anyway, sometimes these pdl's will follow it, most times not, but it doesn't hurt to try. Just wanted to clarify that the law for cease and desist only applies to third party collectors. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Smile

which companies are these? C & D letters have worked for me for the most part- I am also very, very tough with them and won't back down.
