I have been one the the first to tell people not to take out a payday loan...well now I am in a situation to where I am so tempted to take one out!!! One of my dogs escaped from the yard and got hit by a car! He has had to have some surgery for some broken bones and bleeding and will make a recovery but it is going to take some time. The vet bill has cost us a fortune and we still owe quite a bit on it. We are going to try to use our last deferment on our car to help, but we are also now late with the mortgage. I have already booked my tickets to go see my son, but I still need to get my hotel and car rental booked. I am so tempted to get a payday loan to help pay for some of this that it isn't funny. Already called my folks, but they are not sure what they are going to be able to do, since they are both retired now and they still have to get their tickets and my brother's ticket to go out to see Kyle. I have tried budgeting everything I can and am just frustrated. Oh and on top of this, my daughter is sick, again...took her to the drs and she has a respiratory infection, so we have drs visit plus medication!!!!
I really don't want to get one, but the temptation is there! I am trying to be strong not to give into that temptation, but it is tough! Just need that encouragement and support to not give into temptation.
Just for the record, I have already been checking into some assistance and so far, no luck. Help keep me convinced not to give into this urge!!!!

2nband, just forget that those places even exist. They have all been wiped off the face of the earth. People no longer get robbed. We all have our full paychecks. Just dont do it.
Besides do you really want to have to change your checking account again. Its a pain!!!!!

Do you have any old gold jewelry. Gold is at 900.00 plus right now. My wife sold some broken chains and a couple of pairs of earrings to get us out of a jam a couple months ago. Just a thought!

2nband I'm so sorry to hear about your dog & daughter being sick. Believe me I've shared your temptation. What comes to my mind is going through all worry I went through when I ended up getting one then all of a sudden it was 9. Then i think about all the work I had to do to get everything fixed. Closing my account, opening a new one, and you know it just wasn't worth it to me to have to go through all of that again. Please, please don't take out a loan. Take a deep breath & a step back & maybe another idea will come to your mind. I know when I was worrying & my mind was racing it was hard to see things clearly. I hope you can find the urge, however everyone will understand if you can't. No judging here. I hope I helped a little!!

The only things that I have that are gold are my wedding rings and I can't do that. I had gotten rid of what I had a long time ago. Not only that, most of the stuff I have ever gotten has not been gold.

2nband...listen to Frog. I read somewhere gold was high so I cleaned out my jewelry box and sold some broken bracelets and chains, earings, rigng settings where I lost the stone and other junk and walked out with $260.00. It was both 10k and 14k gold. You would be suprised and gold is higher now than it was when I went. Please, please do not do the pdl thing again. You have worked so hard to get where you are. I know you have do to what you have to do and I also know we will be here for you no matter what you decide to do.

I do remember all the mess things were and I really do not want to go there, but right now I am so frustrated and upset that it isn't funny. Dang it, about the time things start to look like we might be on the right track, at least for a while, crap like this happens. I just feel like we cannot ever get ahead of the game. Damnit....I just feel like screaming!!!! I am sorry for venting, but am fit to be tied right now.

Thanks Roxy...Right now I wish that I could turn my plane tickets back in, but they are not refundable, and they cannot be changed, etc. Got them on priceline and named my price, so if I don't use them, I loose the money I paid. I know if I go to TX, I am going to feel go guilty for spending the money, even though I desperatly want to see my son.
NO PDL, NO PDL, NO PLD, NO PDL,....TEMPTING...NO CAN'T DO IT....SO TEMPTING!

The employer I work for now does not do advances on pay and 401K already has loans against them. Appreciate the ideas. We also had a yard sale a few months ago and just donated a bunch of stuff to Harbor House. Yep did the donation thing this time and now.... Just trying to stay away from looking at the sites on the "dark side". I keep telling myself how bad it was and then the little "devil" on the other shoulder reminds me how easy it was and that I really need the money and it just keeps going back and forth. Ugh!!!!!!!!!! I hate being in situations like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok Guys, maybe I am just slow, but how do you even get another loan. After just paying the principle on mine and getting all the nasty e mails i got and the collection calls, NO ONE would ever give me another loan.

2nband, I've had to pm members and tell them to CHOP OFF MY FINGERS because I've been tempted when stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm so sorry all this is happening to you. I'll tell you what I've done. I've sucked up my pride, put my tail between my legs and knocked on the door of one of my friend's GIRLFRIEND's door and asked to borrow money. Now, how sad is that? My friend's girlfriend! I was soooo embarrassed, but that was my only other alternative than getting a pdl again. She made good money, I knew that. I asked him first and he told me to ask her. So, like a whipped puppy, I stood on her doorstep and asked for money. She was more than happy to let me borrow. And I paid her back every week until I was paid off. Now, I don't know if you know of anyone (even someone's GIRLFRIEND! ) that you could just suck it up and ask, but if you do, it's worth a shot. I got my rent paid that month and didn't have to do a pdl. Just a thought......... And I really think we will always have that little "devil" on our shoulder whispering in our ear......

kash, you live in New York. You don't have storefronts. When you live in a state with storefronts, you can just waltz right in and take out a pay day loan within minutes. You're used to internet loans. So actually, you're lucky. You don't have the temptation of storefronts "calling your name" to come in and write a check and walk out with money in your hand. The rest of us have to close our eyes and look the other way when we pass them!
