|

|
We we live in WI and have/had a PDL with CashNetUSA. WE closed our checking acct in the begining of June to get control back of our money due to other PDL's. On June 16th we mailed a cashiers check to CashNetUSA to PIF. They still have not cashed the check and we continue to get emails about them collecting have emailed and talked to several differant people at CashNetUSA and was told not to pay attn to the emails they keep sending if the payment has been sent it is taking them 4 to 6 weeks to open and post payments. 4 To 6 weeks??? Am I just being paranoid or does this not seem right??

Cashnetusa seems to be almost Schizophrenic in their behavior. I got a call from a nice woman who told me I could make payments by mail because my account was so seriously overdrawn. She told she would email the information in writing as to the amounts and where to send them. Never sent anything. Then they tried again to debit my account. I sent an email to there collections and nobody responded. Then I get a call at work, after they were told not to call me at work, by a rude woman who said that they gave me the money through my account and they want it the same way. I tried to tell her the law forbids cumpulsory elecronic payments but she just kept yelling at me a hung up in my ear. I sent an email to them to complain and got a response that I would be contacted within 24 hours. It has been 24 hours and no contact. I am sending them a certified letter telling them that I have tried to settle with them but their employees make it imposible. I am also letting them know that I am filing complaints about their harrassment and illegal refusal to stop the ACH withdrawals. They are licensed pretty much everywhere and seem to keep within most state laws as far as interest is concerned.
If I were you I would send them a certified letter telling them that a cashiers check was mailed to them and for them to cease and desist from any further attempt at collections and demand a paid in full from them. Did you send the check by certified mail with a return receipt? If you didn't I would wait a week or two and stop payment on it and send them another via certified mail. Good Luck. And to think that these people are one of the better companies out there.

Good point, frog. Whenever you mail a payment in, PLEASE send it certified return receipt. That way you have documentation and you can also track it on line yourself and see when it was received. Like I always say, documentation!!!

I only sent the payment regular mail (I know stupid!) just figured it wouldn't be a issue but know I'm starting to worry we finally got our regular bills back under control and current and now I'm worried about having more issues with them. I do know nobody has cashed the check yet I got a automated phone number from my bank to check. Ill give it till next week if its not cashed Ill resend another after stopping payment of course.

Definately! Do your "stop payment" or whatever and mail another. Just remember to mail it certified with return receipt!

Personally, I would do it Monday. If they're that "backed up" as they claim to be, maybe it'll get processed over the weekend. However, if Monday rolls around, check and see if it's been cashed. If it hasn't, then I'd go ahead and do it Monday. 4 - 6 weeks to open & process though? Good Lord!

What is with cashnetusa? I emailed them to stop calling me at home and work and inquired about my balance due. They are rude when they call and I told them I can't get calls at work. I am in PA and borrowed $250 but paid $370. This is the response I got in return.
| Quote: | "The reason you have paid $370 and your account is still in default for
$187.50 is because you received 4 extensions on your account. You will
be held responsible for the remaining balance. Also, until there is
an acceptable payment arrangement set up on your account, collection
procedures will continue. Meaning you will continue to receive phone
calls and emails.
Thank you,

Other posts I've read said they are easier to work with but I'm not seeing it. I can't believe I still owe them. Also the first email from them said they wanted $167.50. It's gone up $20!

Did someone post your PA laws regarding pdls'? So that you'll know how much you legally owe them? And, are they apparently doing their "own" collections? Not a third party agency? I'm assuming that from their email to you. Anyway, do you know what you legally owe them according to PA law?

Problem with PA laws is the the way they are worded they only apply to companies located in PA. So internet companies are allowed to be licensed in another state and lend under those laws. Cashnet USA lends to PA residents under it's Nevada license. So you would have to check Nevada's laws to see if they are following the laws for a loan to a PA consumer.

I'm a little confused. How are they going by Nevada laws. When I check them on BBB site they have 2 addresses IL and Fort Worth TEXAS. Nothing noted for Nevada.

That is a good question. I have found (amazing enough) that when some of my pdl's responded to the BBB, they had an address that was NONE of the ones I had! I'm looking at it thinking "What the hell?" So maybe they're "corporate office" is in Nevada? Or they've moved so many times (surprise!) that the address that the BBB has is outdated? Lord only knows. You'd have to find out EXACTLY where the hell they are to find out anything about that state! And it's hard! They move so much, they don't give out their "real" address. Hell, I had 2 pdl's that I said I would pay with money orders and they gave me some off the wall addresses that weren't ANYWHERE on any of my papers! I was like "Okay, now I have ANOTHER address for this company!" So, of course, when sending the money, I sent it certified with return receipt and then hounded them by email to send me a PIF. They do this crap to be slick and not get caught.

Cash Net USA is licensed in almost every state that lending is legal. So they just pick and choose what state has the "best" laws and use that license in the states that allow them too. They don't necessarily have to be located there, just licensed there.
