So, even though I consolidated my pay day loan debt. I got a call from CashSupply and they said that because they are a first party collection company, they won't work with my debt consolidation company. I think that they are just telling me this to scare me, but can anyone tell me the truth? I think that they will accept it. My debt consolidation company says that they have worked with them before. Also, Cash Supply said that they will continue to call me and my references.

You can stop them from calling you by ending them a registered letter not to call you. If they persist you can charge thenm with harrassment. At least this is what I have been told. A collector from a PDL actually told me that!

I actually did send them a registered letter, which they signed, as they recieved it. It did state that they were not to call me or my friends, family members, co-workers, etc. How can I go about filing harrassment?

A Mrs. Watts from this company just called again, and told me that they don't work with consolidation companies. And, i told her that they have worked with this company before, and you would have to deal with them. I also said that I had sent them a letter stating this, and I was not to be contacted anymore, which they signed for certified mail. She said, well okay, we'll talk to you tommorrow. I'm going to the police station tonight to file harassment charges. Does it matter that this is not a local company?

To Whom It May Concern:

Also, I revoke any and all wage assignments that I may have singed with CashSupply. I also revoke you from contacting my employer, co-workers, friends, or family regarding this matter. If you continue to contact me through the phone, I will have no choice but to file harassment charges with the local police department, as well as the Federal Trade Commission, and the Wisconsin State Department of the Attorney General.
Also, I did send you a certified letter on May 7th, which you had signed for stating that I was not to be contacted via the telephone. This was violated.

Good for you! Even though they are the original creditor, they still have to follow the laws! Just because the fdcpa doesn't apply doesn't mean there aren't laws in place that they have to follow.
I think your letter sounds good . . . . The only thing I would change is this part:
| Quote: | | I revoke any and all authorization I provided to CashSupply to debit or draw checks on any bank account that I may have |
I would add after where you say Cash Supply to include any and all DBA's they may have. As stated right now, they could go into your account under a different dba and hit you . . . . You could probably dispute the charge and get your money back, but it may save having to do that.

My debt counselor said that they will more than likely accept the payments. I think that Cash Supply isn't even liscensed in Wisconsin. I mean, I'll pay them legally what I owe, obviously, but my boyfriend and I get called like everyday from this Mrs. Watts.

Most companies will accept payments when it comes down to it . . . . What are they going to do? Send it back and say no I don't want your money if it comes from a debt cons company? They just want to make you think they won't and that you must pay up in full now to avoid "further action" . . . . Total BS!

They also respond to complaints to the BBB. I filed complaints with all govt. agencies. I even contacted New Mexico's AG's office and spoke with a Ms. Gonzalez. Found out through her, while we were on the phone, she did a search, they are not even licensed in New Mexico. This company does respond to BBB complaints and if you still owe them money and they tell you they don't take payment arrangements, they are BS'n you, because they do. And their mailing address isn't in NM, their corporate office is located in Georgia and that is where you send the payments.

One thing, they are the original creditor, so they don't have to follow the cease and desist letter. They do however have to stop calling you at work if you tell them to stop and you are not permitted to receive personal calls at work.
