I have just heard from the representative from my bank he has suggested that I come in and close my account and he will return every check that comes through this account.

I would suggest that you read the sticky on closing your checking account prior to doing so.

I did and this is what made me ask my bank manager if this was the correct action to take..

It is. It's the only way you will be able to regain control over your paycheck.

If you have any storefronts you will need to immediatly contact them and set up other arrangements. In some state's they can prosecute for a bad check.

Yes I have contacted the store front pay day loans 3 and have decided to still commit half of my paycheck to each of these until paid. I have another post as to how to confirm if a pdl is legal or not which I have been reading on what I believe is to be a sticky. I would like help with how to proceed if the companies are infact illegal. I also have just read on www.paydayloaninfo.org as qoute "Some state payday loan laws place borrowers at legal risk if they stop payment on the check used to get the loan or close the bank account or both, regardless of the reason." and I can not find where Nebraska has such laws Please help with this. and again I am very thankful for all of the insite I have gotten. Wink
