I have not gotten any type of response from the remainig 5 of my PDL's. No GO To Hell response, no leave me alone response, NO RESPONSE AT ALL!!!!!! For those of you that don't know the whole situation, it is getting closer to payday and I'm freakin! I can't get a new checking account, due to my Chexsystem report(only one old acct, that was OD and I paid it off, but it stays for 5 FRICKIN YEARS!)! So, I know more of my money will be sucked out of the bank on Friday!!!! Now don't get me wrong, I can get it back, the hard way. With copies of what I faxed telling them to stop debiting, etc. But, not the point! How long will that money be tied up????? I have no clue. So, I will once again have to wait to pay some bills until all the money is back in my account, which also makes it harder to keep a positive attitude.
I stopped my direct deposit already, so, we do have my LITTLE paycheck that won't go into the bank, BUT...hubby can't stop direct deposit because his company only does Direct Deposit or a ComData Card (basically a ATM card that truckers use for expenses and what not...He works for a trucking company as a Driver Manager...LOL---his job sucks!) So, without a checking account, DUH....??????? WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?

bflow, can you get your bank to put a temporary block on so that this paycheck doesn't get sucked out? Will they do that? I know they won't close it for you, but can they at least block it so that Friday you won't be sucked dry AGAIN??? Can't they at least do that? If you have 5 pdl's that are going to suck out money, can you give them the names that they debit from and tell your bank to reject just those debits?

my sister got a hard freeze on her bank account. She told the bank that she wanted all debits, including checks to be stopped. Only deposits could go in and if she wanted to take money out she had to go inside the bank, she couldn't use the ATM. That stopped the payday loans from taking anything out. If you just give the bank the companys name they will use a different name and take out money. So the only way is to put a hard freeze or close account to stop them.

Bflow...did you check out any of the places that Goodah listed for banks?? What about a credit union?? I have heard they are a little less constrictive with opening accounts..There has to be someone you can get control of your money again before they take it all. I know how hard this is...before I closed my account and got my check back I wouldn't sleep the night before or the night after they took all my money..I was a walking zomie..unfortuntely that doesn't help us solve anything..maybe go to a smaller bank and ask to open a new account..even savings...explain the old mark on the system..it's been 5 yrs and pd off!!!! I remember seeing in Goodahs threads there were places that would accept you as long as the od was paid...please check that out.

I think we have a solution! My husband opened a Wachovia acct, we have to mail in a $100 opening deposit and then they will send us checks, atm, etc. The bank is not located here, but, we will set up direct deposit, so, I dont' care if they are located in California!!!!!!!! Next paycheck is ALL OURS!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all the suggestions and concerns. My bank really sucks, they won't do ANY OF THOSE THINGS

Yeah, Ang is right, they could do something . . . . You should ask them what they do when they discover someone is abusing their account - They will freeze it and not allow any other transactions to go through. Ask the bank why they can do it then, but not when it will benefit the customer??? After all, you are only trying to stop FRAUDULANT transactions from going through!
I did send you a list of banks, right? I also know of a few other "internet" bases banks that you could get an account with. If you don't need a branch to go into they would work for you.

Thanks Goudah, I will let you know how this bank works out, the bad thing is it will only be in my husbands name, but OH WELL!!! That works for what we need it for, I don't write checks anyway... besides I have a savings account I can put my check in on Friday when I get the paper one. So, it will work, but NOT for this check But then again, everything in steps, it all doesn't happen at once!!! Feeling a little better today!

Morningstar - I don't want to scare you - But some banks do sweeps of new accounts - Meaning that if you went and got a new bank account in the hopes of "beating" your old bank's reporting to chexsystems, the new bank may still find it. Some banks do sweeps of new accounts for anywhere between 3 to 6 months. I did the same thing, and 3 1/2 months later my new account was frozen without warning. No access to my money. They sent me a cashier's check 6 weeks later for the balance, minus fees of course.
If the bank you are at uses chex in any way, and doesn't already know you have a chex report, it might be a good idea to open an account elsewhere, just to be safe.

Yeah, and my chex report has every one of those payday loans on it also!!! They also base their decision on how many inquiries were on that report.

Darn...I was afraid of that...that's why I haven't signed up again for direct deposit. For fear my account would be frozen and I couldn't get my money out. It's only been about 2 months with the new bank. In all honesty I wasn't trying to cheat or anything...I truly believed my other account was closed. They never told me it could be forced open. So I guess there isn't anyway to find out if I am on chexsystems other than to pay for their report right?? I think I saw that in a thread somewhere.

If the savings account is at a bank that uses chex, and is a recently open account, then no, it could be closed too. If it's an account you've had for a while, then you should be fine.
You can get a free report if you are denied an account, otherwise, yes, you have to pay for it.
Bflow - Have you seen your chex report? How could the payday loans be on it? Chexsystems should only be reporting on the bank accounts, unless something has changed recently . . . .
