latoya, I sent you a PM, check your messages okay...

Keep at your bank, they should be able to do something. Always talk with someone higher up and keep going higher if you can't find someone to help. They have different departments in banks, try one of those too. I've you've sent revokation letters, then technically they are after unauthorized to withdraw, and most banks will do something about unauthorized money moving out of your account....

You have a warrant from PDLs? Have you started your own thread, this seems complicated and a lot to get into.... If you haven't you should, if you have I'll try to find it..

Default PDL Loans

I have two PDL's out. Plaza Funding and FTR Processing. My hours have dropped significantly and my bank account with overdrawn. These two PDL's continue trying to take money out in smaller increments only further causing problems with my bank. When my next direct dep. goes through all but about $20 will go for overdraft fees and I still won't be able to pay them. Any help with this would ge greatly appreciated. I am looking for another job, and I don't want to close my account as I have been with them for 15+ years. Thanks

sorry to say kbest but closing your account is the only way to get them to stop taking money out. Or you can permanently put your account on deposit only, and everything you do will involve you going to the bank directly and taking money out.

Otherwise if you talk to your bank, you can explain your situation, and if they are great like you think they are, they can open a new one there, and close the old one, and will ensure that they won't access your new one. So if you really don't want to leave your bank, then talk with them.

You should start your own thread if you want to talk about the PDLs you have, list how much you borrowed from them and how much they've taken so far. It seems they are debiting willy-nilly, so they aren't good and we can help you with them. Just hit 'new topic' anywhere within the Payday Loan help board....

Does anyone here know what the magic words are for Bank of America? I can't seem to find anyone who knows how to block ACH transactions for a closed account. I closed my account last week due to lost/stolen checks and I asked several times if anything else would go through. They assured me that it would be closed in 48 hours and anything else would be returned. Sure enough, it was reopened by ACH debits on Friday. When I called they said that anything coming through in a 30-day period would open the account. I NEED to get this account closed by the end of the month!!!

I had success with them by finding the right branch manager. When I first went to them the Asst Manager of a branch reversed all the charges that were incurred when my direct deposit was interuppted but would not allow me to close the account so it went roght back in the negative. I went bchk and the manager put the account on deposit only but would not reverse the neew charges. I filed a complaint with the OCC and overdraft reversed the new charges but too the account off hold. I went to another branch where the account was frozen again but then corporate opened it back up. Finally I went to the branc near me on the advise from a person at another branch and saw the VP/Manager there. He got the account closed and opened me up a new one by working with the manager in the other bank and coroprate. This elapsed over a period of six months. It can be done but you have to get to the right person. Do not give up and DO NOT call the 800 number. They are the worst untrained bunch I have ever encountered.

Thank God for these forums; I read what everyones' saying about bank accounts, etc., and had a list of questions for my bank when I went to close my account. I was very frank with them about what had happened, asked about ach's and return fees, told them I was in contact with the State of Maryland financial regulatory agency, etc.; they worked with me to get a new account open and help me "on my way." From reading some of the comments, guess I was lucky that my bank DID work with me.

Default legal action

What is the legal action if you freeze your account? Can the payday loan companies put a warrant out for you? I have several loans, most of which are paid. Their fees are reasonable. My husband took out 2, one for $500 and their fees to renew is $272. The other is in collection and they are threatening action. What are the laws governing this

Yes, if you have a negative item on telecheck, then any local business that uses Telecheck to verify check writers will not accept your check.

I am currently in a situation with a loan co. that has doubled my loan ammount and added fees. They do not want to send a copy of my loan aggrement. I am ready to close my account but now I am worried about
other problems. I have come up with a solution...
Leave the amount for the payment with a few extra bucks and open another account for our personal funds.
Question would it be better for me to open a second account with the same bank or another bank?

I have gotten in over my head with PDLs and when I called my bank to find out about closing the account, the rep said that any ACHs that go through for 6 months will re-open the account. I am going in to talk to the bank manager tomorrow about putting a deposit only on it until I can open a new account elsewhere. I write very few checks and know which companies to call to change authorized ACHs to my new account. Boy, I have gotten myself into quite a mess!
