I live in NJ, but my bank is in FL (I just moved to NJ) so i can't go "IN" the bank since there is only one of them; and its in FL. I got an email yesterday telling me that i will autorenew unless i give them a statement or something otherwise...i didn't understand b/c they mentioned some kind of loam number(doesnt exist)..and i emailed them back....then i got another email from them saying id have to contact some other company...i did and she asked for my ssn i said no. i said she could look it up some other way. I am not in as deep as some of yall, but it looks like an avalanche might be coming///so what do I do? and the template letters?????how am i to decipher which one is for paydayloans, i didnt see one that said that it was for PDL...help asap.

I went into my bank on Thursday morning regarding the ach debits and pdl's. I spoke to the customer service agent and explained to her the situation. (I have already been in contact with Langhorn to resolve my pdl's) I asked that my account have a block on it and she asked me what companies I was trying to block. I told her that I needed to block everything because the companies have multiple names and would try under a different name if the ach didn't go through. She said that she would put the block on my account but that I wouldn't even be able to use my debit card. I couldn't close the account right then and there because my direct deposit was coming the next day and my account had a negative balance. I asked more than once when this would be effective and she said that it would be immediate.
Friday came and my paycheck was deposited. I planned to go to the bank on Satruday to close the account and set up a new one. Saturday I went to check my account online before setting off to the bank and saw all the pdl's had come out and my account was back in the negative. There is no branch manager in on Saturday but I went in and spoke to the customer service person on duty. She made some calls and found that there is no indication that the account was blocked. I was pretty furious. I told her what had happened on Thursday and she said that there was nothing she could do until she spoke with her manager and the person who had helped me that day. I returned to the bank on Monday morning and was told that because the transactions were already pending on Friday the block was removed by the "back office". They said that there was nothing they could do because these companies had my information. I asked again that a block be put on my account (there is one lender that take money out of Tuesdays) and she said that she would try but that it would probably result in the same thing if the transaction is already pending. They would not reverse the transactions, they said it was too late. I asked to speak with the branch manager and was repeatedly told that she was in meetings or on conference calls. At no point would the manger see me. I was given the main customer service number for the bank and when I called and explained my situation to someone I was told that there was nothing that she would be able to do that I would have to go to a branch. She said that I should go to a different branch because the branch I had been going to was wrong for not helping me. I left work early to make to a branch and got there around 5 PM. I spoke to a customer service rep who said that if the transactions were unauthorized or authorization had been revoked they could have reversed them if I had come in before 1:00. There ACH department closes at five so she couldn't call and get any answers for me to find out for certain if they could be reversed. She asked me if the branch manager at the other branch (which is my branch of record) said she would do anything regarding the NSF fees and I told her that the manager there refused to see me or talk to me the entire day and that I was repeatedly told she was in meetings or on conference calls. The girl I was talking to called over to the other branch and found out that the manager had already left for the day and was to be out until Friday and that there is not currently an assistant. (I am going to get the her boss's name because I basically feel like she didn't want to deal with me because she was getting ready to go on vacation.) I asked her to place a block on my acount because in checking it appeared that it had not been placed. There was nothing more that could be done as of that evening and today I am supposed to receive a call from the second branch I visited to find out if the ach debits can be reversed and my money returned so that I can at least pay my gas bill and keep that from getting shut off on Wednesday. If it is too late to reverse the debits they will have to do an investigation and it will take up to 45 days for them to be reversed. Bill at Langhorne had basically told me to lie to the bank and tell them that I did call all these companies and revoke authorization and to let them know that as soon as I pay them and retain his services that they would send out the formal letters revoking authorization. I just want to close the account but I can't when there is a negative balance. I have cancelled my direct deposit but I don't get paid for another two weeks. At one point during the day I called Langhorne again and he said that I should call the PA Dept of Banking or at least threaten the bank because they basically don't want to be investigated regardless of weather they feel the investigation would turn out in their favor. The sickest thing about this whole mess is that the pdl's were taken out as a result of the bank charging NSF fees (20 of them) when they didn't credit a cash deposit correctly and the whole thing where they take withdrawals out in order of large to small regardless of the order they happened. After that we stopped using the debit cards for everything however the whole pdl thing spiraled out of control and now I am here. |

instead of trying to find ways to screw these companies and banks, try to work out a payment plan and eat a few more peanut butter sandwiches. You received the money and were aware of the fees...so who is at fault? The time you spent on here and probably various other sites, could you have been working to try to pay these guys back?

OR IF, these freakin payday lenders would follow the LAW, there wouldn't be so many people DEFAULTING because the interest rate would be fair and LEGAL. GET IT!! AND, it might even give these ILLEGAL lenders a way to collect their money IF they were LEGAL, that is!! __________________
