Default Advice appreciated

Hi--

Like everyone else, I stupidly got mixed up in the payday loan nightmare. It would have been okay except I lost my job. I'm more than willing to pay what I owe, but it's gotten to be too much. It's a question of paying rent or these PDLs. I have two bank accounts right now. I have 4 PDLs (Greenlight, Ameriloan, 500FastCash, and Zip19) coming due at the end of the month, which will hit my Wells Fargo account. Two others will hit my other account. I want to close the Wells Fargo account, but I'm worried they'll reopen it when the ACHs go through. Has anyone had any experience with Wells Fargo and having it set to deposit only or freezing the account? I am not looking to duck out on my debt since this was something I got myself into. But I need some sort of manageable payment plan.

I live in Colorado and have the following loans--all online.
-Greenlight, original amount of $250. I've paid $267.50.
-Ameriloan, original amount of $300, paid $360.
-500FastCash, original amount of $300, paid $360.
-Zip19--difficult to say since they force you to pay off your loan every time you borrow. I've had at least four separate loans out with them. The last one is $1500, which is almost 50% of my monthly income.
-CheckCity, original amount $500. I've extended and gotten new loans at least 7 times with a charge of $75 each time.
-CashNetUSA, original amount of $500. Same thing as CheckCity.

Does anyone have any advice? If I close my account with Wells Fargo, what will these PDL companies do? I've thought about filing bankruptcy since my credit is already pretty terrible. If I do that, will these companies keep harrassing me? I've heard about consumer credit counseling also. Anyone work with them? Have an success in dealing with this stuff?

Thanks!

If you use the search option you would learn a lot about your lenders. Check with the following links.

Also check out what you need to know before closing your bank account for pdls.

I recently closed my account at Wells Fargo due to payday loans. They were very easy to work with, told me the account would not reopen for any reason, and that was that. I opened a new account at a different bank. I have since had 2 PIF's, one form Eastside Lenders, and one from Cash Direct Express, and Zip 19 has offered a PIF as long as I pay them the principle borrowed in 2 months time. I have had some phone calls, not too many though, and one nasty email from Nationwide Cash. All I can say is follow the advice you get from this forum. It definitley works, but you have to be persistent.

Below is the payday loan laws for your state, one thing you want to keep in mind; in Colorado criminal action is prohibited UNLESS the consumer's account was closed before the agreed upon negotiation date! So you need to be very careful about how you proceed with this.

So in Wisconsin can there be a criminal law against me, since I closed my account.

Criminal Action: Prohibited (per Wisconsin worthless check law, a check given to secure a loan isn't "worthless")

I think you have a few threads going. Didn't you get your answers on your other threads. I remember reading some of yours as you had the same problems as me.

By worthless, I would think they mean a check written on an already closed account. I'm not sure how to interpret it but that's how I do.
