Hi, I'm new!

I've been reading a few of the posts on here and you guys and gals seem like a really helpful community. I was hoping for a little help with my PDL troubles.

My PDLS: (All Net Based)

One Click Cash
Loan Amt: $200
I've paid: $445

Cash Transfer Centers
Loan Amt: $600
I've paid: $2268

B.I.G.
Loan Amt: $200
I've paid: $620

GFS
Loan Amt: $200
I've paid: $325

United Cash Loans
Loan Amt: $300
I've paid: $820

Payday One
Loan Amt: $500
I've paid: $150

ACHLOAN.COM/PDLTRANS
Loan Amt: $200
I've paid: $444

I live in Colorado

I've recently been laid off, and none of these places will work with me. With the exception of Payday One, I've paid them all more than the original loan, in some cases MUCH more.

Luckily, my bank closed my account for me when the balance was -$195. I've read some horror stories on here about wicked overdraft/NSF fees.

Can anyone offer me any advice/direction?

Thanks so much!

Joe

I am sure there are experts out there better then me but from what I have been reading it seems that you have met your obligation to all of them except payday one. I would pay them the rest of the orignal loan and forget the rest. This is why I don't feel bad when people get smart early and don't pay these illegal companies back. Look at how much they have taken from you that they don't deserve. I have one that called me today and they accused me of contributing to the bad economy. Seems like they are taking advantage of us who are struggling.

Joe, all of your lenders are unlicensed to lend to Colorado residents except PaydayOne. You have more than paid them off! I am going to post some info for you regarding illegal/unlicensed lenders, you can only stop the withdrawals one way, and that is to close out your account, unfortunately. The problem with blocking them is they tend to change their names often and debit under different names, therefore it just isn't reasonable to do that. I will post addresses and contact numbers for your illegal lenders shortly. Good luck!

I hope the information below will help you.
You are only obligated to pay back the principal amount you borrowed from an unlicensed/illegal Internet Payday Lender.
Quote:
What should you do?
Close your account asap, if you are unable to close your account, go into your bank and ask to speak with the Branch Manager, tell him/her you need a hard debit block placed on your account immediately! Explain that you are revoking ACH authorizations from unlicensed/illegal companies, and have learned these companies are notorious for ignoring revocation, therefore it is important to BLOCK any withdrawal attempts on your account to protect your interest. This is your privilege, do not accept no for an answer. The following link will provide you important information regarding closing accounts. CLICK HERE

What next?
AFTER your account is secure send each pdl (the unlicensed and illegal) an email similar to THIS (please scroll down to locate letter template). Tailor this letter to your needs, and try to write it with the same basic concept in your own words. You will need to research and locate email addresses/physical addresses if you don't already have them, I suggest that you type the name of the pdl (example: "oneclickcash address") in the search box in the upper right hand corner of this forum. You may also search for addresses HERE at the Better Business Bureau.

File complaints: Most of the time, you can file a complaint online with the following, I encourage you to follow through with doing so, you will need to search the Internet for your state Attorney General's website, however, here are links to file complaints for the FTC, Online complaints: Federal Trade Commission., and the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Keep in mind that you may not receive a response for days, or even weeks, or, you may receive harassing and threatening phone calls. I have found the best way to deal with this is not to respond or reply, simply hang up.

Side note: If you have paid an illegal/unlicensed payday lender above and beyond the principal amount you borrowed, it might be a good idea to demand a refund and a paid in full letter/receipt. You may or may not get one or both. It still doesn't hurt to include that tidbit in your letter.

ACHloan doesn't have an address in the states that I am aware of, the one I dealt with was located in Ireland, they will try to give you a song & dance about how you signed an agreement and are obligated to the laws of Ireland which is a bunch og phooey!

Good luck Joe and do keep us posted. It helps the community when people report back with their successes with certain companies or issues they are having with them.

Hello! I really need some help! I have been receiving calls from ACH Loan from a California phone number 213-555-5555 that is California's directory assistance. They have been taking $48.00 every week since August and I have already put stop payments on my bank account and the loan was for only $200.00. ACH has been told that I have filed something with the attorney general and the federal attorney general and they still will not stop. I live in Ohio

Have you tried to send them a C&D letter?

If they had a leg to stand on they would have done something by now other than call and harrass.

I would just ignore them. That is really all you can do besides reporting them.

They can't do anything to you and their illegal collection practices prove they can't. Threats and harrassment are illegal but they don't follow the rules.

What is the name of the Collection Company calling you? I am going to guess they are not licensed to collect. I feel so bad for you, I wish we could do more to help you.

One piece of advice I can offer is to get caller ID. I am not sure what it costs there but it is $10 a month here and so far has been well worth it.

Now my family and friends do not have to wait for the answer machine to pick up before I will answer the phone and I can weed out the calls when I don't know the number or that comes up as unlisted/blocked.
