After fighting with the bank for over two months, I finally got my checking account closed early this week. It was a hard fought battle. The bank still did not credit all those nsf charges. They only credited enough to zero the account after they credited some reversals to cover the overdrafts (the crooks!). I'm going to go after them to see if I can recover more of those fees because the bank should not be profiting from illegal debits. For now, I'm just glad the darn thing is closed and I won't have to see anymore demand draft checks.

Good for you annie! When I closed my account I asked if anything could go through and they told me no. I know that some ACH's (legal) tried to go through and they didn't. I would think if anything shows up the bank will call me. They also marked my account as fraudulent activity so I am hoping that those facts will protect me as well.

Thanks lady!
llw1995 they did tell me that nothing would go through. Since the pdls wait until payday now, I waited until the day after payday to celebrate. Nothing went through and I'm almost sure they tried. I haven't had a payday in three months that they did not try to steel my money. I routed my direct deposit to a relatives account early on so, they did not get much money. I got reversals on what they got but, that was eaten up in nsf fees. My account is marked as having fraudulent activity too.

make sure that when you do open up an new account it is at a different bank just to be on the safe side and don't apply for any loans (pdl's) with that account or you will stuck in the same rut that you just got out of

Believe me Lady, after what I went through I am not going to apply for anymore pdl loans. Before I do that, I go to the side of the road with a can and beg. Hopefully, it won't come to that.
After my dealings with the bank, I don't even feel like dealing with any of them either. For now, I'm doing cash transactions. I keep more money that way.

annie.. I know how you feel about "begging". I would sooner starve to death, freeze to death and be trapped in my house for the rest of my life rather than do business with ANY PDLer again. They are evil, evil, evil. What is even sadder is that they have people brainwashed into doing their dirty work for them. I, for one, am on an education campaign with whoever will listen to me.

llw1995 I agree they are evil and twisted. I didn't realize just how evil until I saw a copy of those demand draft checks they send through. The checks say pre-approved, no signature required. I almost fell off the chair. I didn't know people could make up checks and send it through your account. When I spoke to the bank they said there was no way to stop those. I still can't believe the crap. These people can steel all your money and you have to fight to get it back. This has been a very enlightening experience. I no longer trust banks. I think I need to build a secret vault to hide my money in. I don't feel safe using a bank anymore.

I use First National Bank of Mattress. They've been pretty good to me, but they're lumpy......

I'm getting to the point where I don't trust ANY institutions. If you just stop and think about what has happened to so many of us and how these guys are spidering out, it's pretty darn scary.
