I received and e-mail from Joe at pay check today. It said:
You are from Florida
listed an old address
That is what you put on your application.
Balance $420.00
I have not lived at the address he listed for 6 - 8 years. I would never have used that address. WOuld he have looked me up in some data base somewhere to get info? And no I do not have mypaperwork anymore..I can not find it.

Do I need to respond.. and if I do are we just going to have a verbal war...especially if this is MTE. I wouldn't put it past them to alter my appliceation to refelct my old address...is FL law different for this company? Isn't this the company that Cannr said MTE said did not exsist?

They could . . . . They don't usually but once you default they absolutly could pull them to gather more information.

You gave them permission to pull reports on you when you signed the application.

Does skip trace mean they can get your new banking info? can they get it from a credit report. I am so paranoid about these companies hitting my new account

Your banking info should not be on your credit report, the only thing that might appear there would be if the new bank did a hard pull when you opened the account. Even then, it would be next to impossible for them to get the account information, banks usually safeguard this info.

Since we gave them permission to pull credit reports, is that something we can revoke when we write out letters? I realize for me it is too late but...

roxy, first of all, this is an MTE Financial related pdl. Okay, so we know they're nice and illegal. However, this is not the one that I had a problem with them claiming "wasn't them". That was USFastCash they claimed "wasn't them". However, don't be surprised if they claim they are not this pdl either. They're MTE. They're going to lie. Let me ask you this - did you have a loan with this particular pdl? You need to know for sure if you did or didn't. As far as skiptracing, I used to do skiptracing years ago for a collection agency. You guys, do not freak out over skiptracing. All you do is locate the person. There is no bank account information, etc. You can find the most recent address, phone, etc. No bank account information. Now, roxy, as far as Joe telling you an old address, that confuses me. I'm sure if you did indeed have a loan with this pdl, you would have used your current address. Where he got your old one? Probably off some old report or whatever. Which brings me to - if we have authorized them to pull credit reports on us when we signed an agreement, then they've already done it. What's done is done. You think they're going to wait 4 years and then pull a credit report? I don't. But I'm not a credit report expert here. Roxy, tell me if you did indeed have a loan with this particular pdl. And, if you did, do you have any documentation of the loan whatsoever?

Thanks Cannr for clarifying skip tracing. I did think it was a way of getting bank info. I am so scared of that happening. I do all i can do to protect my account, but i still second guess myself and the pdls.

Cannr - There are so many different posts about MTE and they have so many names..I get confused about who is who... I have torn apart my files looking for my loan info but can not find it anywhere. I went back through my old e-mails from them ( I saved them all) but have no loan documentation. I went on line and I have access to my account but not that page..suprise, suprise. This is really starting to stress me out. I mean WTF I paid them 805.00 on a 400.00 loan, I know I would not have used that address.. and I had to go buy another accordian file.... UGH!!! Is this address thing going to make a difference?
