I just received a call asking to speak with the HR department at my job. It was from CTC, they said they wanted to verify my employment. I dropped the call but am afraid they will keep trying. What can I do?

they are trying to push through a flimsy wage assignment.you need to speak with your HR person and see about revoking any wage assignment they might try to push through.that is how CTC works.if they can't get a wage assignment, they will try to get a settlement from you.

I have already sent a letter to revoke the wage assignment to CTC and the HR department for the University system I work for. They are trying to reach the my local HR department that has no authority to attach my wages but I would rather not have CTC calling my work. I am willing to make an arrangement with them but they do not want to deal. Can I sent them a letter asking the to stop or are they within their rights?

You can send a letter but they may ignore it because they are a foreign based company. Once the wage assignment fails you will get a settlement letter from them under a different name.

Sometimes you have to tell them you are not at work or you no longer work there. Yes it is a lie but they will continue to call you at work if you talk to them. Sometime just hanging up will help as well. They are out of the country and they know that their wage assignments do not work in the US.

I sent them an e-mail and attached a letter I found on this site. They responded that they would cease all telephone contact and collection activity on my account. I do not remember where I found the letter but, I had to edit it to make it relevant to my state. They also offered a settlement that allows me to pay the pricipal only in two equal payments. if you would like a copy of the letter email me at selfj@jccal.org.

I too have a pdl from CTC. I began getting calls from a man called Anthony. He was very rude. He threatened to call my payroll department and went so far as calling them and sending an email. I contacted my payroll department and advisded them to have no contact with him or his company and asked that they provide no personal information. I also sent a copy of a letter I found on this site to CTC and my payroll department. I cannot remember where I found the letter but, I had to edit it to make it applicable to my state. I got a response from CTC saying they would stop all telephone contact with me and my employer. They also offered to settle for the principal amount of the loan only, made payable in two equal payments. If you would like a copy of my letter and/or their response just shoot me an email at selfj@jccal.org.
