I'm so glad I found this website Thursday just wish I had found it sooner. I've been dealing with payday loans since Aug 2005 and was able to pay all of them on time til the First of this month when I closed my checking account. I had 5 pay day loans and already have 2 PIF's since Thursday. 3 to go.

Payday Ok-PIF as of 1/18/07
Payday One-300-pd 48.75.
Discount Advances-240-pd 0.00
GFS-275-pd 0

I was just wandering how to deal with GFS since it seems so many of you have had dealings with them, I was just wandering what is the best approach. I have a payment arrangement set up to pay them $355 this Friday which I was bullied into via phone harassment at work. But I don't feel like I owe them that much as I have had 3 loans with them in the past I have highly overpaid but with no prove as they are phone agreements nothing in writing. I thought I could call and speak with a supervisor and offer to pay $305 and consider my account pif. I know this company is illegal and there is really nothing they can legal do to me but if I don't pay them they will cont. to harass me at work which I don't need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated? And a Big Thanks in advance. This forum has already done so much to help just since Thursday.

If you feel that you have paid GFS what you owe them just refuse to pay them and let them scream and threaten all they want. They are operating an illegal operation and have no legal recourse to collect from you. Eventually they just go away. Then they come back and go away again. They may pop up in a couple months. I just said "I don't owe you anything" and hung up. Do not encourage them by engaging in any conversation.

Thanks for the information.........I am going to pass this on to my Mom who is having problems with GFS. Also. may I add one other thing, you may want to contact your state attorney general office to see if they can help you with this company. If not, see if they have an international section with the US department of Justice.
