What to do after I close my account

Both of my bank accounts are officially closed and my loans will default on Friday. Should I start sending out letters now so that they won't try to hit my accounts? I'm worried that this will affect me opening a new account this Saturday. That's the only day I have time to go open another account.

Did you make sure that if drafts hit your account will not be forced open?

Yes the Lady who handled closing both of my accounts assured me that nothing will be able to come through on my accounts. The thing I am worried about is that when I inform the PDL companies that they are refused authorization into my account that they will immediately report me to telecheck.

Sonya-Welcome..... Very Happy

If they are scheduled to hit your account Friday, they usually wont even realize it and act upon it until sometime the following week that IF they are legal and want to report you to telecheck or anyplace else.

You should be fine for Saturday Very Happy

Thank you so much volleyballmom and jaydanielle. I was so concerned about opening another account. I have started on some of my letters and will be mailing them today. Thank you for the link to the sample letter. Thanks soooo much! This site and you guys are a lifesaver. Is email a good idea as well? or just certified letters?

best send them certified. just in case they say that the letter was not received, you have proof.

First thing to know - Payday loan companies don't report to Telecheck. They report to Teletrack, which is totally different.

Teletrack is a reporting agency for payday lenders and other sub prime lenders. No business but other payday lenders, rent to own furniture places, and things like that ever look at your Teletrack report.

Telecheck is for bounced checks. If you have revoked authorization, they cannot report you. Also, they don't have a physical check.

Plus, letter or no, illegal ones continue to try to hit accounts closed or not. Mine has been closed for a good long while now and I can still log on to my old accounts website and still see them attempting, with random money amounts or 'paper checks' which they've written and typed my name on..... So as long as the account won't open then you are fine.... Did you get yourself a new account somewhere else? And if so, make sure you don't give that number to anyone. Payday loans like it if you get another one with a new account because then they'll share that information with the ones you defaulted on and other slimy practices such as that....
