So, I called my DMP counselor, and she said that they accepted the payment, and they didn't send it back. She said that if they continue to contact me, I should let them know, but if they continue to accept the monthly payments, it shouldn't be a problem. Any thoughts from anyone?

If you are working with w dmp, I would just continue on as you are. A lot of times pdl's won't admit they work with a DMP, and will continue to try and "collect" on the debt even when they are accepting and cashing payments.

Well, I sent them an email stating them to call my dmp counselor. After I have paid them through the DMP, will they stop trying to contact me? Or, will they continue to try and collect?

You mean when you are fully paid off? I would hope not, but sometimes these places can be a bit crazy . . . . Once you make the last payment I would be sure to get a letter stating the debt is paid in full. Then if they contact you again I would file complaints against them.

Right, when I have paid them in full through the dmp. So, I should ask my DMP to get a PIF from them?

debt, you know this is an MTE. Do not trust them. Ignore their email. You're working with a company to handle them. Do not respond to the emails. They will try to get more money out of you. Once your final payment is made, make absolute SURE you get something in writing from them stating this account is paid in full and considered closed and that you are not to be contacted again. They are very sneaky, debt. You know this. Do not put anything past them. Just a word of warning.

Did I bring you down? I'm sorry! I just wanted to warn you about them! They're just snakes. Let your dmp take care of them. MTE has this habit of "going around" people and contacting you directly. This is their way of trying to get what they can out of you and ignoring/not abiding by others. I'm sorry if I brought you down or ruined your day! But, I don't want anyone to be taken advantage of!

Canr, no you didn't bring me down. You helped to make me feel reassured that I'm doing what is right and they are going to get their money on MY terms, not theirs. I just hope that they don't put me into collections, either.

debtfree, don't worry about being in any of MTE's collections departments. They are illegal, period and unlicensed. Therefore, any collections dept. you would here from would be a joke. Seriously, don't sweat it.

Hey just wanted to let you know the following information that was issued by the Department of Finacial Instutition of Nebraska regarding One click Cash. They are located in this state and doing business out of this state (If you have any questions, please see my thread entitled One Click Cash and DFI of Nebraska):
| Quote: | NDBF Issues Cease & Desist Order to Nebraska Internet Payday Lender
The Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance (NDBF) has issued an Order to Cease and Desist against SFS, Inc., doing business as One Click Cash, located at 52946 Highway 12, Suite 3, Niobrara, Nebraska, from operating as an Internet delayed deposit services business. According to Department records, One Click Cash does not have a license to operate a delayed deposit services business in the state. Delayed deposit services businesses are commonly referred to payday lenders. |

But, I'm located in Wisconsin, I would still have to pay my debt to them, correct?

I would still file a complaint. If you read the whole cease and desist order it says that the DFI acted on 18 complaints, and only 2 were from NE residents.
Wisconsin has that thingy where if you sought out the loan it would fall under that state's laws, right?

Do as Goudah advises, file with the DFI of Wisconsin, which is your state and I would attach the Cease and Desist order from Nebraska to your complaint as the company claims that we are bound by the laws in the state they are physically located in and also licensed in. I would also file a complaint with the DFI of Nebraska as well. I filed my complaint with the DFI of Nebraska, my home state of Arizona, and the DFI of Nevada as their statutory agent is listed in that state. I also filed complaints with the Attorney General's office of Nebraska, my home state of Arizona and the Attorney General's office of Nevada. I also attached to my AG complaints all the information concerning my complaints with the DFIs and BBBs of the state's I listed above and continue to forward documents to the AG's office of responses from One Click Cash received through the BBBs and/or the DFI's of the states I listed above. It may be overkill but I want to make sure that I have filed complaints against this company in every state they have an address as well as my home state.
