Cameron, I saw another post by you..your storefronts are in DC and you are in MD correct?

For your internets..list the company, how much you borrowed from each and the total of how much you have paid to each. I will post the laws in the mean time..if Cannr has not gotten to them first Very Happy

roxy, looks like cam might be good regarding the internet loans seeing as how pdls are prohibited in Maryland. However, the storefronts are going to be another story, since pdls are allowed in DC. Good question, though. cam, what is the status of yourbank account? Some of your storefronts may be members of the CFSA. However, if you bank account is closed, I can't say as to what kind of action ACE can take since DC pdl law does not state what kind of "criminal action" can be taken.

I was just checking that and copying the link for CFSA...CHeck n GO is the only one listed. I was just going to pm you...I was not sure what the protocol for the storefronts is...

Here is the CFSA link

I'm only showing Check n Go as a member of the CFSA also. The others aren't showing as members. And these storefronts have checks from your "old" account which is no longer active? Is that correct?

Cam, Check n Go is a member of the CFSA. Go in person, talk to the manager, and print out the link above. Because they are members of the CFSA they are REQUIRED to allow you to enter into an extended repayment plan (EPP). If they still say no, file a complaint with the CFSA. They could lose their membership. In order to invoke an EPP you must go in no later than the day before the loan is due.

Okay. As long as your account that they have checks in their hand for is not closed, I think we'll be okay. I was getting frightened for a moment because DC law does not state what kind of action they can take. So.... the storefronts in DC have checks from your old account. Okay. So if they turn them in, they would be returned NSF. Now, like roxy stated, you can go to Check n Go and invoke the EPP (extended payment plan) if you go in BEFORE the due date of your loan. You can then sign an amendment to your loan documents which allows you to pay the loan off in 4 equal payments coinciding with your pay dates. However, the others do not seem to be CFSA members. Have you made any payments to them at all on these checks?
