Well, I just spoke to PaydayMax (actually Credit Protection Depot at the 866-645-1661 number).
I got an email when their last payment (March 31st) didn't go through, because I'd put a stop on it. So I called, and I was told that they had received the fax I sent, and it's being "reviewed by upper management" and that they were told not to pursue any collection on my account, and that I'd hear back from a supervisor in the near future.
In my letter to them, I demanded that the account be considered paid in full, and also demanded a refund for the illegal fees they'd charged me on my two previous loans.
I got the feeling from what the rep said that they're probably going to just close out the account and consider it PIF. Not sure about the refund, but I'll certainly be happy with having another PDL paid and out of my hair!

Star, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. A PIF would be awsome and that refund would be icing on the cake...but i know what you mean. I was happy to get the PIF too...even though I way overpaid all of mine. Being done was good enough for me and I chalked the rest up to an EXPENSIVE lesson learned.

Star...I just settled my Pay Day Max account with CPD on Saturday. They also had my My Cash Now account and when I called them they told me my My Cash Now account was PIF and closed and I could settle my Pay Day Max account by paying the remaining dollar amount on the original loan amount. Hopefully, they will grant you the same.
