So, you need a few extra bucks in your pocket. You go online, type “payday loan” or something like it in Google. Next thing you know there are a whole bunch of ads that look pretty much identical. Most even have almost the exact same names? Paydaymax, paydaynow, yourcashyes, hiscashforyou, payday-loan-in-a-minute-but-no-fax.com….really creative stuff. What the heck is this mess? How can anyone figure out who’s who or what’s what. It’s just chaos. So you pick one and apply. Next thing you know, your email box is filled up, your phone is ringing like mad and you have 5 different loan offers. Strange..since you only filled out one application. So what happened?
I think it's a worthwhile topic here as many are confused as to who these guys are. This is but one way this happens.
The rest of this is on my site.
Thanks and hopefully we can clear a few things up for people!

The point is, we are trying to get people NOT to take pay day loans here, but to offer alternatives.
All one has to do is search the PDL Forum and see the many people that have gotten themselves into a big mess, myself included with these places..Pay Day Loans are not the answer to your problem and you will pay dearly fo them.
I am not sure if you are trying to helo, James, or advertise here..

I'm not sure what you read as a Pro-pdl part of that? I've been clear from the beginning, I'm here for both helping and advertising. People get here AFTER taking payday loans because it is not advertised to them before. Try to find posts that say "should I take a payday loan"? There is no way to advertise a forum. It's too broad. It doesn't make sense to write detailed posts that can not be referenced because they are buried. I write for search engines. This is whatI do. In a short time you will search USA Payday Loan and find me. Do you not understand the significance of that after reading my posts?

Ok, sorry for being snippy. There is no way that post is pro-pdl. It's pointing out that sites disguise themselves as businesses to get a person to apply for a loan and then sell the information to the world. Almost every person finds pdls through search engines. Search engines operate by keywords. I am trying to store useful information in one place. let's say you have a problem with PaydayX. Wouldn't it be nice to have a site referencing every problem they have and hand that over to them? This is not snippy...they do not care about you. They will care about thousands of you...particularly if you happen to own their reputation through search.
so, follow this. You're looking for "paydayx". You type paydayx in google. Instead of getting the illegal paydayx, you get the paydayx is a bunch of criminals and here is thousands of posts to prove it blog. Do you see how that stops this at the root, and not after?

You can also do that here. Just type in the search of a PDL company and see the posts you come up with, also check out the PDL Forum, it has alot of info about closing your account, etc..

I understand that. What I am saying is that it needs to be done outside of here. It needs to be done where people search before they take a payday loan. This is where we solve individual problems. and that is good. Go on Google and search payday loan help. You will find pdl companies, not this site. I'm making a site that smacks people in the face when they search for payday loans. If you want to make a difference, and I believe you do from the efforts you put in here, you really need to open up to a world outside of, but including, this forum. We can sit in here and clamor all we want. Nothing will come of it beacuase it lacks organization.

This site strives constantly to improve our Google rating, so that we come up first when someone searches on payday loan help.
I don't think we're all that disorganized, to be honest.

james what you are stating is that when people start searching for loans not even in particular payday loans, because even if you type in loan (payday loans pop up) that if more people had sites(like yours)it acutally is warning people and also letting them know how bad these are and how they ruin peoples lives, am I correct?

It's a forum environment. It's meant to be this way. It's not an attack on DCC. The site is phenomenal. The content is disorganized. If you are involved with the Google rating, I'd be glad to discuss a few ways you could really benefit from the great content here.
What I am saying is this...to create an actionable environment content must be organized in one aggregated unit. The site spreads out posts and disallows links. That, in itself, defies action. Does that make sense? (not sarcastic)

It does make sense but I must admit that the reason I found this place was because I would goggle payday loans, etc. and this would show up.. what I don't think you understand is that people know payday loans are bad.. they have repeat customers even! it's a trap and it's one thing to say they're bad but it's another to offer permnate solutions on how to prevent needing a loan.

If you go after a pdl, you can not send a forum to them. you need to show scale, which can only be done by having everything together in one place. Note the Pa AG definitions below...
In general, the Bureau is only authorized to file formal legal action where it has reason to believe that a business is engaged in illegal practices and it is in the public interest to do so. "The public interest" may include a pattern or practice of fraud, an important question of law, a significant number of consumer victims, a significant amount of money at risk or a variety of other things.

kolodin...I am with you on this one. Education is key to hitting these folks where they live. This site has saved my life, after the fact, and we do emphatically advise people to stay away from PDLs but they have to find us first. Most of us are here out of desperation of being caught up in this hell. Had I found a site that warned me first about this situation, I probably would have done without a few things, or paid a few bills late, rather than live this nightmare. Hell, I am now paying bills late anyway, AND I have to deal with the slugs besides. I have had to waste time and effort closing accounts, opening new ones, making copies, faxing letters, making phone calls, sending emails and the list goes on and on. If I could do one thing to prevent another from dealing with this I would. James has offered some valuable information, albeit, from a different perspective and venue and I hope it helps in the long run. I, for one, am willing to work on anything that will get these groups off the net, and out of our neighborhoods.
