Does anyone have direct contact information as a mailing address for this company. They refuse to tell me where they are located and to deal with me in writing, now they are claiming that instead of the $652.50 I owe them for this account I now owe them over $900.00. I have gotten some great advice from this web site before and have managed to get two of my payday lenders to set up arrangements for me and to also drop all interest charges and I would like to follow through with this company and file a compalint with the BBB as they refuse to give me a physical location and to send me a written breakdown of my account.
THank you for all of your help. I am half way out of the payday hell that I was in.

When I go to the BBB website to file a claim, looking up this company indicates that it is doing business is MD, I thought these were illegal in MD all together. Also it states that the BBB can not locate the company for contact. Any help would be appreciated.

I thought Discount Advances (aka Credit Protection Depot) was illegal. Aren't they based out of Malta?

Credit Protection Depot is a collection dept for Discount Advances. Same as for PayDayMax and MyCashNow accounts. They are ILLEGAL and based out of Malta, but use a stateside address for collection that was in Nevada. They just recently moved according to my state AG in June. They are at an unknown location. Be careful they are tricky to track down. Best way is to phone or email them directly. Your certified letters to them will be returned

PDLs are illegal in MD, but if the company is a CSO then it is different and very legal. Check to see if they are operating as a CSO in MD All in all this sounds a little suspicous to me. Did you file a complaint with the AG office yet?

That info is Texas specific, but it applies to other state's too that have CSO's operating there. Maryland and Florida are the other big two, but they are popping up all over the place to avoid restrictive payday loan laws.
