I can sypathize with all these posts. They have been harrassing me at workand my demands for it to cease are replied with they have every right to contact me in any manner. My employer has demanded they stop, but they dont. My coworkers are fed up with the whole matter. And, I will lose my job if it doesnt stop.
They have my cell, and have only called it to state my threats are nothing. That they are untouchable because they collect thru what is called virtual collection. You call their number and is is an automated system that doesnt identify company. You have to leave a message for a call back, there isnt a live body to discuss anything with. I stopped taking their calls as they are very demeaning calling me a criminal, a loser, and a slacker that doesnt deserve any special consideration.

They demand I pay by credit card and I refused to give them any information until my request of a copy and breakdown of this bill, along with a legitimate mailing address and contact number. They hung up on me.

I am certain almost that the address in Henderson, NV is a vacant suite, just for purpose of collecting money through various means, quick collect, moneygram etc.

They are ruthless, and seem to be unreachable legally. I have tried.

Any suggestions?
Thank You

I had not paid much attention to the PDL people, but today I decided to read through this thread. All I can say is that it would appear that these people are nothing more than thugs with email addresses. I always avoided such services and am very I happy that I did so.

I did get served, I checked w/ the court house and I have a court date of 8/27/2009. I will have to retain an attorney to represent me these documents are all legal jargon and I have no idea what they mean. I know I owe a ton of debt so no telling,

Strange, I had a call from a Randy Johnson that said he was from Orange County and have documents that he must serve me and would like to know if I would be home on 7/30/09. He also has Documents for two of my references that he needs to serve. And ask me to take down EME phone number and gave me a docket number to call. He wanted to verify my address before he took a flight to my area. I thought this was the strangest thing I've ever heard. Why would you call if your serving papers to someone? And why the hell would you serve two references?

I'm getting the same threats as other people here.. They are threatening me for internet fraud and "bad checks" just because they deposited $200 in my account and my bank account was closed by the banking institution.. It was out of my control that they closed my account but they're saying I've committed fraud and that I have a judgement out, and if I don't pay a settlement, they will garnish my wages. However I live in NJ where payday loans are illegal. Will my wages be garnished by this company?

to garnish they would need a court order.to obtain that they would have to sue and win.i doubt they can do that.however they can try tp submit a WAGE ASSIGNMENT.that is totally voluntary and revocable.if you haven't yet get a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter to your HR or payroll person.

Is a Wage Assignment Revocation letter something I could create myself? And How? and I also don't even have a job yet, but I wouldn't want wages garnished when I do get a job. Is that something I'll need to do after getting hired?

Those email some of you received are highly unprofessional, and is almost always against any company's code of ethics. Definitely keep copies.

I received a call from Stephanie from Emerald Marketing today regarding a bad check. I closed my account, and sent them a letter withdrawing the ach authorization. I'm waiting for her to respond to the email I sent her. As soon as they start the threats and send me unprofessional and harrassing correspondence, I will be getting in touch with the necessary people. I offered to make payments. I just need a reasonable schedule. I'm in the payday loan mess as well. I can't wait until I'm finally out of it.

Don't worry about it, Emerald Marketing is just trying to scare you into paying them back. They had their so called lawyer leave me a message on my phone about a judgement filed against me (I live in Maryland). That happened March of last year and no judgement was filed and I have not heard from them since. If you ignore them long enough they will disappear and unfortunately move on to someone else. I believe they charged off my account and moved on.

Question Emerald Marketing - Same situation as you guys

I have a loan with them. However, I had to wind up closing my account before I made my first extension payment. I've gotten one threatening email so so far. My son is in some legal trouble so I'll need every penny I have. I want to work out a payment arrangement with them. I told them I can't pay it all at once however. I just don't want to be harrassed constantly. The email I received today was sent in a manner where it can't be copied or forwarded. I don't get it.

Same here. I can't pay my loan all at once. We'll have to work out a payment schedule that's reasonable.

I should of been signed in when I posted the above quote:

I received a call on a Sunday 09/06/09, from Mr Johnson again. This particular call, he says he was around the corner from my home. (LOL) to serve me and my references papers. I asked him if he bought his appetite? I was in the middle of a BBQ with family and friends and I had plenty of food to go around. And it will be refreshing change if he would be able to go over my document paper work with one of my guest that is an attorney.

I have been telling this company that I've never taking out a loan and they have failed to provide me with paperwork, they only would give me a docket number. He said that I need to call Emerald Marketing for further details of my account, and make arrangements for payment. I said why would I need to call or make arrangements when you are here to serve me a court order for garnishment of my wages? He then got upset and said he was not able to find my home. And had other things to do, and I will be hearing from his company in a few hours. He never showed! I never got a called.

thank you all for your input. I recently took out a pay day loan with this company and became suspicious when I couldnt reach them via the phone number they provided me. So i started searching through the web and was shocked at what i found. I then went to the better business bureau which confirmed my fears. I asked my bank to put a stop payment on any and all ach withdrawals from that company and filed a complaint with the BBB. The only website listed for this company is on facebook! Avoid this company at all cost.
