Look in the do it yourself section of this forum and they have sample letters there, just remember to always reword them for u situation.

Reword it heavily. Some of the leander will tell you that they have seen your letter a lot and it comes from the internet. EVERYONE, stop using the same letter. Move it around.

What exactly do you want to be mentioned in the letter to the pdl? Pleas give us a brief summary so that someone can search for the specific one.

janice, what exactly do you want to say? Are you looking for a PIF from the pdl? A settlement from the pdl? A refund from the pdl? Just to inform them that you're revoking their authorization, etc.? What is it you want to say? We can help you if you are a little more specific. Very Happy

one that says to stop debiting my account, says that I am only paying what is legally owed which is the principal and per my state of TN... something that says that they are not to call me at work or at home and that all correspondence should be through email or usps... stuff like that... I know that there are others that have sent such things....and thought that someone would be able to let me know what they used.....

janice, I just typed up my own. However, if anyone has a pdl letter stating everything janice can use as an example, could you please pm it to her? I just stated my loan amount, my state law, what I legally owed, if they were licensed/unlicensed, if I overpaid, if I still owed xxx dollars according to my state, revoked their debit authorization of my bank account, revoked any wage assignment I may have signed with them, told them not to contact me via telephone at all, communication only through email or USPS, etc. Everything you covered. You can just type it up yourself, insert the dollar amounts, copy and paste your state law, and tailor it to fit each pdl. If you've overpaid, state your overpayment and demand a refund. If you've paid the principle, state that and that they're not getting any more money over that amount, if you haven't paid the principle, then tell them you will only pay them xxxx dollars to meet the principle amount of the loan. One letter can cover it all. Then email/fax/mail the letters to each pdl.

A word of caution about rewording the letters...doing so in the wrong way can lead to some trouble. There has been a situation in the past where a member reworded the letters on our site, and included a statement of her own that the PDL company perceived as a threat, and they responded by threatening to sue her over it.

Just a word of caution - I wouldn't want anyone to run into trouble using our letters. You want to change only the parts that apply to the laws of your state or your particular situation. (In other words, make sure you quote YOUR state law, not the law mentioned in the letter.) Our letters are safe - they state the facts of the matter, without being threatening or antagonistic.

Cannr...your letter sounded right on the money - state the facts and let them deal with it! Smile

I just figured type out the facts, include the state law, and revoke everything under the sun! LOL! Laughing

Oh, and of course, let them know you've filed complaints. There. Straight and to the point. What's their problem? LOL! They don't like it when you know the law!
