I have had CA tell me that too, and I sent them a money order anyway! I haven't had one returned yet! Whatever you do, don't give them your account info! Good Luck..karen

What I did do with mine was, I wrote a short letter saying that I was enclosing money order such and such for the amount of $$$ for account #. That way they couldn't say that this wasn't received, applied to another account, etc..good luck karen

I agree....the only reason they want a check, IMO, is so they can get your bank information. They will not turn down a MO. I don't know of any collection agency that refuses money orders. In face, most perfer them so the clients and themselves do not have to wait for their money.

The only other way to pay a CA is by prepaid debit card limited to the amount being paid. I have never heard of a CA sending back a money order though.

I think they just want the bank info like the person said above.

I agree with you stargzr that just gives them the opportunity to bleed the account dry whenever they felt like it.

In my experience, they don't want the MO because they have to wait for it and it buys the debtor time to back out/skip out on the bill and avoid future calls from the CA. If you do send one, they will never send it back and it will be posted to your account as soon as it is received.
