Ok first off you CANNOT go to jail for not paying a payday loan so if anyone tries to tell you that laugh at them and do not let them scare you. They very well may contact your employer. The key is communicating with the payday lenders before it gets to that point...if you communicate with them instead of avoiding them they are less likely to contact your employer and your references. Do you have store front loans or internet ones? What state are you in and who are the loans with? If you can get us that information we can help you In the meantime, don't panic, you are NOT going to jail...there is no debtor's prison!

Start a new topic with the following information:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

I live in kentucky, I have a PDL at a storefront office. I have hit hard times and was unable to pay the loan on time. But was able to work with them to set up payments. Yesterday I got a call from them and was told that they had closed the office. It is private owned and they have no other offices. I was told just to mail my payments to them instead of bring them in. No amount was set for me to pay at a time. Only that I had 3 months to pay it off. Something doesnt sound right about this to me. What do you think that I should do? Confused!!!!!!!!!!!

Help Please !

I have a payday loan that I have defalted on. They keep sending my check through my bank over and over. And also are sending electronic payments through trying to take a there return fee out. What should I do? I also live in KENTUCKY. Is there a number I can call to see what can be done about this and if they are legal in doing it the way they are?

Kentucky, I would stop by the office myself and make sure they are closed. If so, it may be ok, but I would mail a money order so you have proof of payment.

Help please, it sounds like you have a store front loan? Have you tried to stop by the store and see what they can do for you?
