I started to get an international telephone number showing up on my caller ID. I know that this is most likely that BIG company. They are crazy if they think that I am going to pay international rates to talk to them. They have withdrawn $855 for a 200 dollar loan so far. They are sadly mistaken if they think that they are getting anymore money from me!

guest, you're correct. The number they are calling from is in the UK. However, if they do leave you a message, they do leave a toll free number to call. Now, I'm praying that these guys no longer have access to your bank account, right? $855. My gosh. Thieves.

Sorry Cannr. that post by guest was actually me. So no that they do not have access to my bank account. Strangely enough they have not left a message yet.

They probably won't. They have a tendancy to call 140 times and just hang up. Soon, out of desperation, they'll leave a message and tell you to call them and leave a toll free number. Lord. Don't even bother. As long as they don't have access to your money, they can pretty much bite you. They are the worst. They will argue your head off for 15 minutes before you realize you're just wasting your breathe! If they get REALLY desperate, they might send you an email. It's kind of funny (after the fact)! But they will haunt you for a very long time.

CTC has not called or tried to contact me in quite awhile. I am sure that my number will come up in the rotation soon. At least I do not have to listen to their messages @ work lately. I am lucky that I have my own direct line and have about 2000 coworkers in my office building. At least they cannot just cold call people through the operator, the odds of getting someone that even knows who I am is very small.....

nj, they're probably getting ready to send their famous wage assignment. No lie. I never heard a word from these guys and then a nice little wage assignment shows up. Wonderful........... Just don't be surprised.

I have corresponded back and forth with Big a couple times via email. They of course told me that none of payments applied to my principal balance. They actually think that I would be willing to pay another dime back to them. I told them that I considered my accoun PIF yada yada, using those form letters that you gave me. We will see what they come back with. As a whole things have been pretty quiet on the PDL front for me this week. Not any phone calls but I am sure that I can expect them to pick up again soon.

nj, more than likely what they'll do is eventually send you an email (can you tell I've been down this road?) and offer a "settlement" of like $100 that they will want sent via Money Gram. Oh. Okay. After I just OVERPAID my nice illegal loan, you want another $100 to consider it "settled". Ummm.... let's just say that didn't happen.

Ya, they can send all the offers that they want......not another dime heading there way. We will see what comes from it. If anything, they owe me money, but I know that will never happen. They of course wanted me to call them but I just said that I prefer email. I am sure that they get mad when people mention that there company is illegal since about 99% of that is due to people gaining knowledge on this site. Hopefully I can get all these companies away from me eventually. I could care less if they call my cell phone a 100 times a day, I just never answer it unless it is someone I know and even then people leave voicemails. Got to love voicemail, no need to ever answer the phone again. Luckily at work they have my direct line and that is it, so I simply do not answer that either. I have always just screened the calls even before this so I have all the info together before I call people back anyhow so no change there either. One day I may change up my cell number to get a fresh start.

nj, don't blame you there. And you're awesome by not taking the phone calls. Oh, they will "resort" to email (even though they don't like it). I enjoyed it. I like to get nice illegal stuff in writing.

I will get them all on email eventually. I enjoy some of the voicemails letting me know that we have a very serious and critical situation to discuss to avoid legal troubles! hah...... don't think so. I can see how these collections people get a lot of people to overpay on this stuff though, as they act like they are going to send the cops after you etc....

That's the only way they can get people to pay. To scare the crap out of them. They can't LEGALLY do anything to make you pay, so they try to scare you into paying. And, it's sad. It works a lot. So these people end up paying $1,000 on a $200 loan. Amazing.

Ya, too bad. I have a friend that I found out was in the same boat as many of us on this board. He listed all the usual suspects when I asked him who he had gotten his payday loans from. I gave him the web address so hopefully he will get on here and get it taken care of. he was very depressed because he had gotten paid on Friday and they took all but $12.50 out of his bank account the same day, and now of course he will probably end up having to get a new loan just to buy food.

I have passed on that info to him. I think he had a loan that they were just taking the fee out and then the fifth rollover came and they took the whole thing. This same thing happened to me about a month ago. I had gotten my direct deposit and had almost 1500 in my bank account. Then I checked the balance again a few hours later and it had fallen to 200! Ouch, that takes a lot of wind out of your sales. So what did I do? Of course I had to take another advance from CTC and the whole thing happened again in two weeks. I really do appreciate all the help that everyone here gives. It has made me swallow my proud and buckle down to fix this. I think that is my friends main problem, he is embarrased by it. Luckily for him he was at a bar hanging with me and my other friend, who has gone through the same thing as well. Anybody can get sucked into this stuff. I wish that I had the cash to get him through to next payday but that obviously isn't happening

I do move into my new place tomorrow! Not sure what my current landlord(big corp) is going to do about my back rent. They of course also will charge me for the rest of the lease as well. The funny thing is that I almost had enough to pay all my back rent and then they went and tacked on all these late fees and lawyer fees, which nearly doubled the amount that I owed, so now they won't get any of it.
