Man. This just sucks! I'm sorry for your friend. At least you can talk about it with him though so he knows he's not alone. Hell, if he came here, he'd REALLY know he wasn't alone! And I do understand about having to take out another friggin illegal pdl because your check got sucked out. Sucks. And I hate to hear about your back rent and all the fees. Good Lord. At least you got another place. I'm just so sorry about everything.

Well, it always works out in the end one way or another. Like I said I do not mind ignoring phone calls so as far as the overpaid illegal loans they keep on calling me if they like. I am a bit nervous about the outcome of my current eviction. In PA there are only two people that can garnish wages, the gov't and unfortunately landlords. I believe that it is capped @10% of take home pay so it would take me about 5 years to pay them back at that rate. I already figured it in, and though I would miss the 10% I could still survive no problem.

I found the below on a website. You have got to love these people and their rationale! For the low price of $30 per $100??????? Lets see that would roughly be 60% per month, or 720%/year. Yes, what a bargain! Where do I signup! I have never seen the application fee before!

"For each $100 borrowed, our charges are a low $30 every 2 weeks or part thereof. There is also a $19.00, one-time only, non-refundable application fee, payable upon submission of this application.

B.I.G will not call or reply to my emails anymore. I still write them a friendly note every day asking about my PIF. I am sure that they will have to write back eventually! I know that they hate this site because people actually learn about how illegal all these places are and knowledge is power!

Amen to that!!! It sounds like you are doing better njl..as far as oweing money...we all do. You memtioned B.I.G. has not called...well I have been working on my pdls for 5 months now. I thought all was going well with my arrangements. Last week a CA e-mailed me and wants this loan money immediately.
They now have contacted me 5 days in a row...with threats! They figure if they keep it up I will eventually give in..boy do they have a lot to learn! I know my rights and I am sticking to it! Knowledge is power!!

Yes, stick to your guns. I think that it is pretty cut and dry that if a loan is illegal to begin with then you definitely cannot collect that debt. Keep up the stance against them, that is what I am going to do.

CTC went quiet for two weeks now and I just got an email from them asking for payment.

Just watch CTC, nj. You know them and their wage assignment. Were they "willing to settle for less"??? Just curious. That's what they usually do.

No, they just sent an email asking for the money..... everything is good on the whole wage assignment thing, payroll said that unless it is the gov't they won't touch any employees money, at least employees based in PA.

Great! They are horrible. But, please let me know if once they realize they are not getting "their" money, if they send you an email stating they are "willing to settle" for like 60% or something. I find it quite interesting!

I will, no settlement yet from them. I am still not paying them even that. According to my records I owe them about $280.... and that is all that they are getting. If they refuse that, then they will not get a penny back.
