Hi
I am in Illinois and have two payday loans out. I went to the Illinois site to see if they were legal, but not sure how to find them. Do I looking under Banks and Trusts? So maybe someone here knows if they are legal or not. The first one is FastBucksNow, who have changed their name to paydayflash. (There is a FastBucks who is with the BBB so maybe there was confusion and they changed their name, who knows) The other one is Nationwide and I think they dba Ambassador. I want to send cd letters, but need to find out first if they're legal.

You wouldn't look under banks & trusts, because they are not a bank.
Go to this link:
http://www.idfpr.com/dfi/LicenseeSearch/frmSearchLicensees.asp
It will let you search the IL database. Just be careful, sometimes they are licensed under a corporate name, or a name slightly different then what you are searching for, so you don't see their license when they do have one.
