Most pdls are computerized. They just generate the emails according to the due dates. The computer, I'm sure, sent you the email to see if you want to renew, etc. You did good. Do not respond to those and keep on sending your original letter. Even if you have to do it 50 times. Almost all are computer generated. They'll send you an email saying "Thank you for your payment" when indeed the debit was rejected. Sometimes it takes them a couple of weeks to catch on that they're not getting their debits. That's when they'll start hitting hard with the phone calls.

okay i got my first phone call today from a Sharon Williams at Westbury Ventures. I have no idea who westbury is. She left a voicemail. said that i need to contact her because she is in receipt of my letter. she said that i dont have the option of mailing in payments because they gave me the funds electronically not through the mail. And that this loan is an internet loan and Ohio laws do not apply. What do I do? She is calling my job! She was very ignorant.

Westbury is hard to deal with....I have been coping with these people for 5 months now. I have my all my debts with a debt counselor..they have been in contact with them to make arrangements to pay my loan. Westbury still sends e-mails asking me to arrange payments by phone. I do not call them..just e-mail them back and tell them to contact my debt counselor..they represent the pdl I got my loan with
back in June. It was illegal in Indiana ( where I live) then and even more so now with our new laws.
Just set-up a plan to pay them what you can..mail it to them and only contact them by e-mail or USPS..stick to your plan....they aren't known for doing much else except harassing you.

I just received this email from a Carmen Hernandez from CMG:

Quote:
I have received your information regarding your loan with CMG Group LLC. Please be advised that your account was submitted to an outside collection agency as of 11/6/07, due to information received from your bank that you have revoked deductions from your account.
We cannot discuss your account nor accept any form of payment on your account. Your account is no longer with CMG Group LLC.
Is this possible?

aminah, yes it is possible. If I remember correctly, all of your pdls were unlicensed/illegal correct?? If this is the case do not worry. Evantually, the collection agency will contact you and we will help you with a letter requesting validation of the debt. Do not worry. Sometimes the outside collection agency is a division or related to the pdl. Again, they are just trying to scare you. I have four in collections and I have to say it is much quieter..

I was just reading another thread about this Sharon Williams person. She sounds like a beast! Should I call them before they call me again? Or should I send them another copy of my letter?

am, keep everything in writing. You are starting to freak out. Do not freak out. It's okay. You need to keep everything documented. Especially with illegal companies, okay? Do not call. Just do everything via email or USPS. You will need all documentation.

You have every right to be nervous. These people harrass people! My gosh! That's why it's best to just not take the calls. They will get you more upset and no telling what they will say. Getting an email, you can read it, freak out, post on here, get advice, then respond to the email on your own time and you'll be thinking straight. Do not worry. We are here for you.

Thank you guys. I never did call that Sharon Williams back yesterday. And she didnt call me back either. Maybe she will call today, nonetheless, I am letting all calls that I dont recognize to the voicemail. I am not trying to hear anything she has to say.
