For those of you that have managed to get back the money that overpaid, how long did it take and how did you do it? I just sent off all my letters today - thanks to cannr, vollyballmom, and the rest of the wonderful people on this board. I am bracing myself for the 8$#% to hit the fan tomorrow when they receive them and when they find out our bank account is closed.

Hi there!
Honestly, I didnt get back a dime. But what I really wanted was them to just mark my account PIF and leave me alone.
Since tomorrow is Friday, it will take them a few days before the "get it" that the account is closed and they realize it.

I had the same result. I overpaid 8 of my 10 and never got a penny back...I was happy enough to finally get the pif's. If I remember correctly it took about 3-4 business days before I started getting any calls from them.

I did get refunds. Not from all, but from some. And it did not take long AT ALL to receive them. They were from the companies that KNEW they were illegal and KNEW they were caught. They acted pretty quickly. Maybe I was just lucky?

Hi VB Mom. . . I haven't really overpaid any of my PDLer's by much so I am with you on this one. I just want a PIF and get the h**l out of my life. I guess I have been fortunate enough to find this site before I was too deeply indebted to them. My battle has just begun but I am sure that things will pan out in the end.

jen, I didn't have any of those, but from what I read (and roxy experienced) I haven't heard of any of them giving refunds. It would be nice, but they're so illegal. They don't care if they're still breaking the law.

I got a refund from one company. In reality it really didn't take too long, but it did seem like forever. The other companies I did not get a refund from. Using pdls can be an expensive lesson, but if you can get the accounts marked PIF, that would still save you.
