Happy D-Day! (Default day)

After hearing all of the horror stories from people about Bank of America re-opening accounts when they receive ACH requests, I am very happy to say that this was not the case for me. I logged into my online banking again this morning and saw only one account, my brand new, untainted one with a whopping 43 cents, just how I left it before going to bed last night.

I get my live payroll check this morning (hopefully it will be the only live one I receive, or one of two) and for the first time in many moons, my entire check is MINE.

I expect that my phone will start ringing at some point today with the managers of a couple storefronts, but I suppose it may take a few days for the online creditors to realize that their payment was denied. We'll see how long it takes for those calls to start.

When they do start, though, do I just refer them to Langhorne even though I haven't made my first Langhorne payment?

To do list (considerably smaller!)
----------------------------------
Get power of attorney notarized and faxed/mail to Langhorne on lunch today
Speak with final storefront manager

iguana, great news about the bank! And your paycheck will be yours! It's a good day! You might actually want to consider calling the storefronts before they call you. I know you've done this already, so maybe it would be best to just let them contact you. They may not since you've already been there. The managers will probably call. Just talk to them. See what they can offer you. Remember to call the one store you haven't called yet. The on line pdls will take awhile before they realize what's going on. Give them a few days, then they'll hit!

I'm not worried about the storefronts, since I physically visited them and spoke with all of the managers I could speak with.

I'm concerned about the online PDLs, since they won't be contacted until after Langhorne receives my 10/29 payment (though I'm going to try to make payment on 10/26 if I can.)

Should I just refer them to Langhorne if they call at all next week?

I would, but you could alwyas verify with Langhorne if you can go ahead and send the pdls to them when they start calling.

Ok, I will ask when I call to verify if my notarized power of attorney letter was received after lunch.

Thanks for the advice, gang!

Took care of the notarized letter on lunch and have a wad of cash in my wallet, instead of pending to be taken out of my bank account for once.

I'm all set up with Langhorne, spare my first payment. I was instructed to not reply to the creditor calls by my Langhorne rep, so let's hope they don't call my references.

iguana, they won't call your references. Don't worry about that. Good for Langhorne telling you not to take their calls. We would have told you that anyway! LOL! Don't take the calls! I have had TONS of internet loans and not one out of ALL of them called any of my references. They were too busy harrassing me. I wouldn't fear them calling anyone. I can almost promise you this. But I won't promise, because with these guys, anything is possible! But I had 12 internet loans, and some with the ugliest ones possible, and none of them called my references. Now, yes, they did try calling me at work, which was a pain in the a$$.

"Dear (name removed for your safety. cannr):

We received your payment of $87.10.

Your confirmation number is 484409.

Your current loan balance is $273.27. And the due date for your next
payment is Friday, November 02, 2007"

Hahahaha... if only they knew...

Still no old account on my online banking, so I know that this is just some silly automated message that is saying they sent the ACH out. It typically didn't even hit my account for the first time until the next day.

cannr: Ok, I'll try to stop stressing about that. I'm not worried about if they call my boyfriend, just if they call my mom. :P

iguana, do not worry. I had "real" people listed as my references. Not one was called. I really, really doubt they are going to call. I swear, out of 12 (and that's quite a few!), none called. Just called me! LOL! And, yes, this is a nice computer generated "debit confirmed" notice. Oh, give them just a few days. Probably by the middle of next week, they'll start tripping out since the debits were rejected!

Just in time for Langhorne to start sending the 'she has a lawyer, back off!' notices at the beginning of the following week!

I'm fairly relaxed right now, though the vodka and coke zero I'm having sure does help that. :P

Well, that'll help alright! LOL! But you honestly should be feeling good. You are so on the right track. You've got it going on! You're going to be fine. Especially with Langhorne working for you. At least you won't have to deal with the harrassment and threats. Good for you! Have a vodka and Coke Zero for me!

This one is almost gone, so the next one will be poured in your honor (and your little puppy's!)

Meh... the phone calls have started.

OneClickCash just called me at work. Unfortunately, I am the only one on my work's phone queue, so when I answered, I was forced to talk to them.

I informed them that I am working with Langhorne and that they should be expecting a letter from Langhorne shortly. They asked for Langhorne's phone number and when I asked them to please not call my work phone number and offered my cell phone, they said they will no longer need to call me and that they will deal with Langhorne directly.

So at the very least, they have been diverted. I'm sure Langhorne won't be too happy with me having to toss them off to them before sending my first payment, but I had no other choice.

You do what you got to do. Glad to hear that they say they are going to work with Langhorne and stop harassing you.

Oh well, iguana! They're going to be helping you soon anyway, might as well start throwing their phone number at the pdls! At least you got one of your back. Personally, I would continue to give the phone number out so they won't call you again. Good job today!
