I just received a phone call from Fox Enterprises regarding a loan I think I had from Geneva Roth Ventures which was a year ago. They say I owe them $390 which I already paid off last year. They said they are going to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and take me to civil court. Can they do this and what do I need to do to take care of this? Thanks for your help!!

As long as you have your paid in full notice you will be fine. You might want to find out what the account number is on that bill though, and compare it to your paid in full receipt. Send them a validation letter and make them validate that debt.

a scare tactic 100%. Complain to the FTC, which is a federal entity or take you to civil court? Laughing

Two very different entities.

As shazzers noted, get them a debt validation letter out asap.
