I was checking out old posts here on the pdl I have and I noticed that someone late last year, actually filed for mediation before the PDL company...So I did a little research and found that in Franklin County we have a mediation for PDLs, so I contacted them and asked if I could ask before the PDL and this is the repsonse I got back:
Mediation is not a formal court filing, it is an informal request for the parties to discuss the matter and possibly come to agreement. You may ask for mediation, but I would need to know ahead of time who the attorney for the lender is because I know of at least one who will not participate in mediation.
If the lender will participate, I would need names, addresses, and phone numbers for both parties, the amount of the claim, and a short description of the dispute.

Ok so can anyone tell me how I would find out who the lenders lawyer is??? I'm guessing that calling and asking will get me no where.

Usually court cases are public info. Check your local courthouse and see if you can find any fillings from suits they've been involved with.

The mediator just mailed me back and said my lenders will ask for a meeting after 60-90 late, however she suggests I call them and see if they will work with me. She say if I tell them I've talked her that might help.
Keep you fingers crossed.

If you go through mediation though won't you have to pay court costs and attorney fees and all? I was under the impression that if you lost the case, then you'd have to pay their attorney costs and the court cost. But I could be wrong. You may find yourself paying more money than you actually would have had to pay to begin with.

nope I was told with this service you pay $15. She said that's the idea, keep cost low and work out the problem at the same time:)
