I previously had 6 payday loans (all internet) upon finding this forum I closed my bank account and sent letters of revoke of ach to the companies. The only company who has responed is Khaki Funding (Loanshop) I paid $720 on a $300 loan and I live in South Carolina. They have called 27 times in the last 4 days. I got a phone call today from Robert Foster (1-866-669-3182 ex.3291) who would not state the name of the company he worked for, only that he was working on behalf of Khaki funding. He said no matter what our state laws are we were obligated to pay him $300 today, or he would contact our local authorities to have me picked up for fraudulent check writing and notify the check writes system and I would never be able to write a check again. Then said I was using my Social Security number fraudulently and could report me to the FBI. What should I do?

First of all - there is no such thing as a debtor's prison. Secondly, he is just trying to scare you into paying. Dont pay attention to him.
I have learned this from others on here - I am sure they will post more soon.

It is all lies . . . . They are the ones breaking the laws. I would just ignore them. They cannot do a thing to you. There is no debtors prision. You cannot go to jail or be arrested for not paying on a loan.

Smiling , keep smiling. It is nothing more than idle threats. These people will say anything to scare and intimadate. They can not arrest you.
Do you need the laws for your state, or did you get them already

I just tried the number and there is no extension of 3291. Its someone that works for the lender as they offered many extensions and one of them was loans.

Volley, it is very funny. They must think that everyone they speak to is an idiot. WE have made mistakes, but we are far from stupid.I think next time someone says something silly like that we should just ask them what they mean, and then laugh, because they wont be able to explain it. BLah blah blah

Smilingfaces: This exact same thing happened to me with one of our ipdl's. I too paid more than what I owed even with the finance fee. This man called me and wouldn't tell me the company he worked for and also that someone would show up at my husband's job to incarcerate him. I almost laughed in his face because I was lucky enough to find this site before he called. I listened to him for a while to see what he had to say and he offered some ridiculous settlement amount (on a $150 loan), and then I told him that I would only pay back what I borrowed plus simple interest. He said ok hold on let me see if that will work, then he put me on hold. While I was on hold I started thinking wait a minute I've already paid so what am I doing talking with this loser? So when he came back he said another high settlement amount and I asked him how he could justify requesting that when they are not even licensed to operate in my state and my state law prohibits them from lending to anyone here. He said oh you want to talk law with me? I'll talk law. I said yes as a matter of fact I do what you got and he just got mad. Then at that point I said see ya and hung up the phone. Someone else, a woman tried to call maybe two times after that and left a message acting like they were talking to the wrong person in the first place, but then I never heard from them again. Not a phone call or one piece of parchment in the mail.

We had another post about that too...being downloaded...and then someone else was going to be uploaded and then I remember saying that I hoped while they were doing that to me they would acidentally hit delete! They are all so full of it...trying to scare poeple...if they were half way decent none of us would have had any issues with them at all....
