Hello, I had a very odd occurence today. Someone called my work and said he is going to read a legal document to me. He had a thick accent and I kinda cut him off and told him it's a fraud, blah blah and hung up on him. I'm used to this scam, as they tried me before on my cell phone. I have one outstanding loan out but it's with Geneva Roth and they are still not working with me and not accepting that these loans aren't legal in my state. Heh. Anyway, now here's the weird part. I noticed he also called on my cell and that the number was 518-212-1618. I called it and was told it was Hensen's Behavorial Health Center - a hospital? I asked who would call from there and she said she did not know as she was the operator. I goggled the number and looked it up here as well and of course, it was the scam I predicted it to be.
Now, how did this happen? Is he collecting for a loan (I still refuse to talk to him at work, anyway and still dont regret hanging up on him!!) or did they somehow wire their number for a hospital? Was it even a hospital? This is so weird and I'm always a little freaked when someone calls my work phone..

Lol, maybe I misdialed? I don't want to call back until I am on my cell again (I don't want them to keep calling my work!) I am just so sick of these scams every time I turn around! I settled most of my loans but my info is everywhere!

There are actually devices out there that can change the number that shows up on caller ID. Ifyou search the internet, they can be found. Are they legal? Not for collections or telemarketing!!! Do they get used? Ask bea2ls.

It seemed illegal all over, which is why I hung up on him (who reads a summons over the phone insteading of serving it? Lol). I just got a bit freaked because he had my correct social. He said my references are going to jail, haha - he's funny!

I got the same call on my cell phone but this time it was from 646-862-5114 (ext 1047)
I have no idea why this jerk keeps calling. it was the same heavy accent but this time he was an "officer" and if me or my attorney doesn't call than all he can say is good luck. whatever.
i don't plan on calling back (but i did save the msg!) but am a bit scared he will call my job is there anything i can do to stop this? it just gets stressful and its getting old.

yep he called my work, i cut him right off, told him he was a scam and that he is not allowed to call me. i also mentioned that what he is doing is not legal and i told him good luck because he is being reported. haha, my co-workers were laughing. it's so embarrasing though!

okay, i wasn't sure if i was missing something. my office is pretty strict and the last thing i need is this! Luckily - well, not lucky at all! but conviently- my idenity was stolen (i had a thread about it once.. someone in az used my social to get cable..) so i kinda blame these things on that. who knows anyway, it probably all is due to payday loans

ok, this is getting out of control! he called my cell and work AGAIN. he left a msg on my cell but i accidently deleted it (not that it was important but i kinda like to save them..)
when he called my work, he asked for my supervisor.. i blew him off and he hung up on me. but the thing is that the number he's calling is no longer my phone number at work and someone else is likely to transfer him to this person. i should have told him i quit lol and pretended to be someone else. i can seriously get in trouble over this..

one more question, (sorry!) i don't even know how to report him. is it even legal to ask for someone's supervisor? i know he likes to share my social security number (and is probably the root of my idenity theft!) he also gives out - quite freely - my old banking account number. but i dont even have his real number, as it always seems to be spoofed..

he called again, asking me to repeat the name of the company. if i had this number still i would have turned the ringer off but i changed desks.
i really only owe geneva roth and this isnt their style. i had problems with VIP cash but everything seemed to have worked out.
i am like shaking. is there anything else i can do? i dont even wanna take a lunch because i am scared of leaving my desk.

Maybe telling them you quit would be a good idea...would your co-workers go along with that if you asked them too?
