OK I took out a pdl with Global Financial (GFSIL) a year ago, but got in over my head had defaulted, had to close the checking account and everything. I had been working with a debt company (which gave GFSIL a revocation of ACH and payroll deduction order when I began working with them) but for certain reasons, had to stop. They have started calling me again, at work. I have told them not to call me at work and they continue to. I asked for a statement in writing of my account and they refuse to send me one! They are very rude and have already tried to call my payroll dept, but I answer the phones and told them to deal with me, but send me a written statement, they say they cannot do that. I don't have any contact info for them, does anyone have a fax# for them, and how should I word a letter to them to get them to stop? I heard about claiming the overcharging and getting their debts satisfied, does anyone know anything about that? Help! Thanks!

i would let someone else tell them you don't work there anymore.other than that they will continue to call.they don't care,as they are illegal and evil.you could also tell your co-workers this is a case of fraud and identity theft.

haunted. . . I am in the exact same situation with them. I have repeatedly sent them a cease and desist letter and told them I am not paying another cent. They keep calling like they don't even hear me. Sorry I can't give you any advice but maybe someone else can. Good luck!

Well they called again today and my boss answered and told them that she will get a restraining order against them if they don't stop calling. We'll see if this helps, I doubt it...They were really mean to her too.

There is only one way of dealing with them and that is to deny everything and to hang up on them. You can send them anything you want but it means nothing to them. They are overseas and can't touch you and you can't touch them. They use a call forwarding system in this country. Their only recourse is to threaten you. Like drugs, just say no! Eventually they will go away. They may resurface over and over but keep on saying no and hang up! There is no other way of dealing with them.

Short of going to England to kick their behind...............I would continue to send the the cease and desist letters by fax and e-mail. Also tell them to read the letter that you sent them in the "Queen's English".

These guys are ruthless. However, always keep in mind that the worst thing they can possibly do (and it is enough to drive you batty!) is call the living hell out of you. And, they will. They are soooo illegal that they don't give a damn if they are harrassing you via telephone. Honestly, they will call until the cows come home. The only way I got them to stop calling my workplace was to tell them that I no longer work there. Then I changed my cell phone number. I swear to God, they will call you FOREVER. I hate to be yet another bearer of bad news, but boy, these guys LOVE to call people.

Just a thought...you can have a lot of fun by asking them how their kids are, how was their holiday..whatever. Make friends (not really) with them and just talk to them when they call. Ask them about sports. Tell them they are welcome to call, you're not going to pay them, but enjoy the conversation. Don't get mad and watch them squirm. Trust me, it can be therapeutic to drive them batty.

Actually, that might be kind of funny! As they keep droning on about "their money", just keep on rattling on about what was on TV the night before!

I never tried that on a PDL. Don't have any, and don't feel like taking one out, just for psychological experiments.
OTOH... I can confirm that it works real well with the pea-brained tough guys from MRS associates. When I responded to their call with 'I was hoping to hear from you', it really flustered the guy. Worked pretty well with Resurgent too. I invited them to call back anytime, then slapped them with a strong-arm DV letter. Can't imagine why they never called back.
