Heck no you cannot be put in jail for an unsecured debt and they are seriously abusing your rights.I will move this to the payday loan section and let one of our guru's assist you. In the meantime they will need a list of your loans, whether storefront or internet, money paid to date on each, and lastly your state of residence.

Can you tell me what the name, of the PDL is? What state you live in?? I'm ASSUMING this PDL is taking the money out of your bank account. Usually they take fees out, with every paycheck that you may get. let me know this information. And....no, you CANNOT go to jail, about a PDL. 99%, of PDL's are illegal. Why?....because they charge all of that %. If the PDL IS legal, in the state, where u live, I would say you have ALREADY paid back this loan. Get back with me baout information.

I have to say, I agree with luke's post. LOL! Guest, if you would like, you can post who your loan is with and we can look at your state law and see what's going on. If they have taken this much out of your account on a $300 loan, they need to be stopped. Please, if you wish, post the name of the pdl you are dealing with and what state you reside in. We can help you here! Very Happy

PDL's can make your life ( not excluding your bank account), a real mess. Ya know, I recieve less and less ads, for PDL's because I never answer them!! They are just trouble. However....I'm gald there's people, on this forum, that can help you solve them.

I cant believe how tricky these IPDLS can be. I put nothing past them I particularly like the one from US BANK wanting to verify my banking info, because there may be a problem with my account

Can you go to jail for a PDL? In most states, the answer is definately no, but to be positive, I would doublecheck the laws for your state. You can do this by going to Paydayloaninfo.org and clicking on your state.
Since PDL laws vary by state, this is just one of many reasons while federal legislation is urgently needed. Hopefully this will happen soon.
