after many many years of playing with fire, i have decided to cut the apron strings known as payday loans. i have been in an out of this trap for close to 4 years now. i pay off, reloan, stop for a while, reloan...and so the cycle continues.
i am in ohio. my loans are as follows:
ACHLoan: 200, Paid 74
LoanPointUsa: 300, Paid 1080!!!!
OneClickCash: 400, Paid 240
Loan Shop/Hampton: 400, Paid 120
Loan Shop/DMS: 100, Paid 240
ZipCash: 500, Paid 300
Greenlight Funding: 200, Paid 85
CashTransferCenters: 700, Paid 0
PaydayOne: 500, Paid 0
CashnetUSA: 800, Paid 0
I have two storefronts, but am in process of working out payments with them.
I bank with a credit union and they have been VERY helpful in this matter. I was able to go to deposit only, with terms to pay back my negative account.
I spoke with my employer and they have been VERY understanding on making sure any calls/faxes/mail are not bothered with. I have provided them the letters I have/in process of mailing out (certified of course) to each company. My paycheck has been stoppe for direct deposit and my husband has opened an account.
I am trying to take this one day at a time...but it is a bit overwhelming. I have taken the advice on these forums and have drafted all the necessary letters to correspond with each company.
By the way, ZipCash is no longer making loans. What does this mean?
Thank you for your time in reading this post. You have all been so helpful to this almost bald lurker!!

Please keep us posted on your progress and know that if you need assistance someone is always here to help out. Best of luck. Oh. . .and thanks for the tip on Zipcash. . . .as for what it means I am not sure but any day a PDL stops loaning money, is a good day for us!

so ACHLoan has stated via their customer service that i am bound by ireland, blah blah blah. i resent the same information stating that i am a resident of the US and bound by the laws of my state. i am not a resident of ireland. i asked for a physical address to send my payment for the principal amount, which is $200, less one rolleover of $74, for a total of $126.
i am waiting for the phone calls to start. but i will not be bothered. i am sending all information between myself and this company to the attorney general of ohio.
is there anything else i should do?

You could also file complaints with the BBB and the FTC. Good job on putting them in their place regarding abiding laws! Keep us posted.

i sent ohio's attorney general the responses back and forth between myself and ACHLoan. hopefully that will be sufficient. i will not go to the FTC to make the same complaints.
ACHLoan says they will continue to ACH my account. it doesn't matter. the account is deposit only right now anyway. good luck to them. they consider my reponses "closed" and won't be responding back. i will keep hitting them up though.
i sent an email to LoanPointUSA this morning and haven't heard back. how long does it normally take?
i feel a bit sadistic with this pressure off my back.

xine, have you sent Cash Transfer Center a letter revoking the wage assignment? They will send one to your employer for sure. Just wondering if you already covered that.

i have not sent one to CTC yet. i have not defaulted with them currently, but will next tuesday. i plan on sending them the revocation for wage assignment either tomorrow or saturday via certified mail, fax, and email.
my only question is what does it take to send something out of the country? i haven't ever mailed anywhere outside the US.
i appreciate everyone's support and advice. it really has helped me stay focused in getting these taken care of once and for all.

xine, I just faxed mine. Believe me, they will get it. Even though I sent them a letter revoking it, they (of course) sent one to my employer anyway. And it came via fax! So, I sent it back to them via fax. Jerks. So, just don't be surprised if you get one sent to your employer even after revoking it. CTC is retarded! But, like I said, you can do it via fax. If you have email, you can send it that way too. Honestly, they pay no attention. It's mainly for your records to cover your butt when they do send it to your employer.

Welcome to the Community xine Congrats on taking a hold of your financial situation and getting things resolved! As Cannr said, be sure and cover all your bases and keep notes and copies of everything you get or send.
It is also good that you are working out something with the store fronts, as they are the ones likely to take you to court, or at least they are here.
Let us know if you have any questions we are here to help.
I deleted your duplicate post so that all your replies will come to this one post..Good Luck..karen

Yeah, CTC and Northway are bad news.
Before I ever knew any of the information I have learned here about illegality, etc, they managed to garnish my wages for $1100 on a $300 loan. I just went and looked over what was sent (via fax) to my payroll department, and they actually sent a wage assignment that they had marked as a garnishment. I didn't know there was any difference so I didn't dispute it with my company.
If that whole mess hadn't been 2 years ago, I'd probably go after them about a refund. $800 would come in handy for my upcoming honeymoon!
