My fiance and I got into some trouble recently with some payday loans. I found a company called Relief LLC that will consolidate the Internet loans for us but not the storefront one. Has anyone heard of them? They are located in Henderson, NV and their website is reliefllc.com.

Here's the payday loan info:

Internet:
United Cash Loans....$350
One Click Cash.........$430
Payday Loan Yes......$350
Loan Shop Online......$800
Ace Cash Services....$260

Storefront:
Quick Cash.....$720 (we could not live up to our payment arrangement so we just got served over the weekend and they will file a judgment in 21 days if not paid in full. We tried to set up a new payment arrangement now that I am working again but they were very firm on the NO part).

I live in Idaho if this helps. The above balances include interest and we've only been able to pay on a couple of them, then closed our account before we didn't have rent money. They are harassing my fiance's place of employment (he works out in the field) and making his employer angry. The only way to pay these is through some sort of consolidation company I feel, otherwise we are so scared about wage garnishment or more judgments against us. Also, we can't afford to start payment arrangements on these until our paychecks on July 1st. How long do we really have before garnishment is an issue? Would we get notified 1st?

Sorry I'm all over the place with questions and info. I'm just losing sleep over this and we are kicking ourselves. Please let me know what our options are and advice on consolidation companies that work with payday loans (I have other debt that can be included along with the payday loans).

Thanks a ton

Hi there and welcome. I live in Idaho and I can tell you that the laws for payday loans are pretty lax unfortunately. Click the link below to view and read you payday loan laws.

Several of your Internet loans are illegal, this means you are only obligated to pay back the principal amount you borrowed, on your terms. Due to the fact they are illegal they can't do anything but harrass you.

All the above are illegal lenders. Ace Cash Services is a legal lender in Idaho. You need to take care of the legal lenders first. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

As far as the store front, you need to send them a certified return receipt letter stating you are willing to make payment arrangements asap, this way, when you go to court you can show the Judge that you TRIED to make arrangements. The Judge will order you to make payments to them based on your income so make sure you take proof of income and proof of out going bills, expenses, etc. so the Judge will be fair with the payments. Whatever you do show up for court! If you don't they will get a default judgement against you then garnish your wages.

I'd avoid Relief LLC. They started doing business in February so their claim to be achieving 25-40% settlements is suspect. Most settlement companies don't hit that level at all, and no one can get you a settlement until you have money saved up. Even the clients that started up on day one would only have three months in their program. How many loans could they possibly have settled?

Then there's the claim that working with them will not affect your FICO score and that they'll actually work to remove anything that does show up on your credit reports. First, the Texas and New York AG's are suing debt settlement companies for telling the same lie about debt settlement not affecting FICO scores. While most payday lenders don't report to the "Big 3" some - like CashNetUSA do, as do a lot of the collection agencies that handle payday loan debt. Second, if they are taking upfront fees AND "fixing" your credit as part of their service, they are in violation of the Credit Repair Organizations Act and can be shut down anytime they get on the FTC's radar screen. A reputable settlement company will tell you the truth - although you might get lucky (especially if your debt is all payday loans) debt settlement cannot help you credit score. In fact, it will probably damage it. Only if you are willing to sacrifice future credit for present relief, should you consider debt settlement.

Wow, thank you so much for this info! I think I can breath now knowing that I can take some action and fix this mess!

Is there a way to find out the address of these internet lenders? I'm working on the "illegal lender" letter to send them as we speak. Their websites don't seem to give that information...gee I wonder why?

you can try searching on this site for the lender's address. I e-mailed some of my letters (I too have united cash loans and payday loan yes) I'm going to look up their addresses and mail them a copy too, saying "e-mailed on ____ to ____"

I know you can find the address on this stie though, because people have posted the info for me

I contacted Relief, LLC about this also and they said that they don't claim to repair credit scores. They said that the majority of payday lenders are not accepted by the major credit bureaus anymore as to the abuse and excess of reporting in past years by PDL's. As well, the collections agencies if reported can be easily disputed as a Payday Loan being masqueraded by a collection agency.
