I found this posted right on the BBB site. (Actually listed with MTE's information!). It really hits home. How many of these "tips" have we run into? Just something interesting for everyone. And I'm glad to see it posted on the BBB site.

*Refuses to provide its street address location.
*Demands that you wire or send money before you have a loan offer confirmed in writing.

*When you telephone, no one is ever "in"; your calls are not returned, or the voicemail box is always "full".
Victims of bogus loan brokers are encouraged to file a complaint with the BBB(www.bbb.org), their state's department of financial institutions or finances, and their state Attorney General's Office.
While the chance of recovering the payment fee is minimal, victims can provide information to help BBBs and other agencies warn consumers and assist government investigations. |

That's pretty much guidelines for any scam . . . . Pdl or otherwise.

I found it quite interesting seeing as how we've run into every single one of these "tips". Like I said, I'm just glad to see it posted on the BBB site. At least it's a step in the right direction. Thanks, goudah. Loving the avatar!

I noticed that on someone's information when I was looking up info on the BBB website. Does it have a disclaimer that pretty much says "we aren't saying this is a scam because we don't know, but here are some tips about scammers"?
And that to me says SCAM! run away! Got of love it, even with the disclaimer....
