PDL's are on my inquiries...
they are checking like every week
saying that the inquiries were initiated by me..
Is there anything I can do about that?
Can they do that legally?

I would contact chexsystems and let them know that I did not authorize any of these inquiries.

go here and it shows you how to contact them and to submit a fraud alert. Go to consumerdebit.com

I said something about contacting chexsystems but after trying to reach a live person I realized that it is very difficult. So I am going to try my darnest to reach them and get an answer.

I would recommend that all of us with these ipdls/pdls and this fraud alert on to stop them in their tracks so when they go to pull your chexsystems they won't be able to do it. You can even place the alert on your file by phone. I am going to place one on mine. I wish I would have known about this prior to opening my new checking account.

How would putting a fraud alert stop a pdl from accessing the report? Wouldn't it just show to them that there's a fraud alert on it?
It's my understanding that fraud alerts are there to alert the creditor that there may be ID theft going on, not to stop a creditor from looking at the report. I may be totally off base here, but that was my understanding. I don't see how a fraud alert would stop an inquiry.

Goudah, you're right I reread the information because I thought it said that in order to obtain a copy of the report a ss#, written consent and password would have to be provided to verify it was you but apparently that is only to change the information.

My question is: does it hurt you to have the pdl inquiries on the report like it does your credit report?
What does it mean to have someone on the checksystem report as an inquiry? pdl's has your basic information to request a report on you...

The reason they are looking at chexsystems is to see what banks inquired on your chexsystems report so they might be able to find your new checking account.

I don't know all the details of that but they do have all your personal information like your ss#,dl#,home address and phone number so I can't imagine it would be that difficult.
