Companies like DDS, Langehorne debt sollutions and a list of other payday loan debt solution companies are not licenced collection companies and can not stop any collection company from calling you or reporting your bad debt on your FICA score. They offer lower rates (all monies to be paid to them) and promise to get your debt taken care off. In the end, you still will be harrassed by creditors, your debt is reported to Trans Union, Equifax, and Experian and the money that you paid to these companies will account for nothing.

I just wanted to add in that I have been working with langhorne and so far they have been nothing but great. My counselor is always friendly and together we're on our way to getting me out of this mess. And so far they've been able to settle my accounts for less than what the payday loan companies were asking when i was dealing with them alone. They also were able to stop all the phone calls and contact

Ok, I just got off the phone with Langhorne. I have been comparing all this different companies. They do not really handle store front loans. They advise you to do it yourself. You have to close your bank account and open a new savings account, then you have to deposit money on the account every two weeks and out of these money they take their fees and the rest stays there until you save enough to payoff your loans individualy. They settle your loans with the lenders but you are the one that makes the payment. They charge $100 for getting you started in the program and after this you pay a fee based on how much you owe the lenders. The difference between them and destination debt solutions is that the second company pays the lenders instead of you. You put the money on the savings account and once you have enough to settle a debt, they pay that off. DDS dont charge a fee every two weeks. They only charge $200.

I just started with DDS and they did reccommend I close my account, but thenn to open another. This is to prevent predators from getting in. It makes sense to me.

DO NOT WORK WITH DDS. They seemed like a great company at first and my counselor was super friendly. I thought I was making a great choice and followed their instructions completely by putting stop payments on any outstanding debits, closed my bank account, and opened a new one with another bank and also their company Global Client Solutions. I had 6 outstand loans. I made my first payment with them of $281.00. About a week before my next payment was due, I logged onto my GCS bank account(which is where they say you can go and see all payments you’ve made and where/who they’re going to) and my balance was $0. I immediately called my counselor and asked what happen to the $281.00. She told me they had taken it for their fee. Fee? I was never explained any fee was going to be charged for their services besides a monthly fee of $35.00. When I asked her to break down the fee she told me they charge 30% of your total debt! WTF???!!!!!!! Nowhere was this listed in the paperwork I had to sign and NEVER was it mentioned by my counselor. My total debt was about $2600 and 30% of that was almost $700 on top of $35/month! Not to mention they were taking their fees first before they were going to pay off any of my PDLs. I asked them what made them think that anyone who needed their services had an extra $700 laying around and their only reply was 30% is better than the 400% PDL companies charge. Are you kidding me? There services isn’t even guaranteed. Most PDL companies will not even work with 3rd parties and can still take you to court. There was no way in hell I was paying them. I immediately canceled my service with them and am currently working out the loans on my own. When does the ripping off ever stop?

Your post needs to be made a "sticky" at the very top of the page!!!!! PDL Eliminators, DDS, ect are doing you no favors!!! As you have learned, they charge you a ton of money to the very thing that you or a non-profit can do at NO cost!

I agree with PDLOwner...I went through a non-for profit agency in my local town and they were great. They charged me nothing and they understood the laws that pertained to my state the best.

I've been with Destination Debt Solutions for two months now. I highly recommend them. So far, 3 of the 5 payday lenders settled quickly. One is still calling me daily and another one that did get a check already still contacts me. DDS told me that I could report them to FTC and they could get fined. I told the people at my bank that I would highly recommend DDS.

First, find out if these are legal lenders.

DDS started paying my payday lenders around the first of the year. They will have my last lender paid off the end of July. One store did cause problems with them (Checkmate) which I was aware they possibly would. I highly recommend DDS. From the beginning, the counselor that set me up let me know of some of the places that don't work well with them (some internet Payday places that I never used).

Yes, and they do not negotiate your debt. You must be prepared to pay the whole amount. On the other hand DDS and others do a lot of work to decrease the debt and therefore do charge for the privelage of working for you. The results of my research were:

CCCS = $1886 per month on $10,000 debt for 12 months

DDS = $1012 per month on $10,000 debt for 12 months

They are paid handsomely but when you are getting rid of debt that has 500-700% interest on them for a 30% rate you can see the savings in black and white.

I have worked with DDS on the "other side" and can assure everyone out there that they are a waste of money! DDS is doing nothing more than you can do on your own for FREE!! The accounts that they "negotiate" down are generally illegal internet lenders, not storefronts.

If your money is tight, DO NOT use one of these companies! Save your money.

If you have legal lenders, call CCCS or some other non-profit.
